Challenge: Multiple Light Sources (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Location: my bedroom
Date: May 25, 2004
Aperture: 29
ISO: 100
Shutter: 30 sec
Galleries: Abstract, Still Life
Date Uploaded: May 25, 2004

I had tis idea for taking a multiple light source shot that was overtly obvious to the viewer. Since voters are fickle this was the salient component to the shot. At first I thught I would need at least another pair of hands to pull this off but it turned out that I was able to manage it on my own.
Basically I used these transparent coloured folders to cast the colour from flash lights. I set the exposure for 30 seconds and just moved around until the shutter closed. Not much done in the digital darkroom other than a crop, added a simple border to bring out the colours and then resized. Pretty much straight out o' the camera.

Would make an interesting example photo for a color theory tutorial. Think this would work better with the edge of the table in the lower left cropped out.

excellent idea, however the lower left corner and cropping takes away from perfection, in my opinion...

why so much black around the edges, why not shoot closer to the subject?

Marvelously done! Well designed, composed and exposed.

Nice simple composition ... I like it. I wish the blue and green were a little more saturated, though. And I really wish you had cropped that lower left corner! Nice idea though.

Thiscould have really been great, but it's a little out of focus on my screen and I would have composed it a little more differently. Something more elemental .

This is very cool, with the three colored shadows. I like how it is off-center as well. Good shot.

Cool photo--I like how the multple colors are nowhere other than in the reflection. It makes it seem like the glass itself is the source of color. Neat effect. Unfortunatley, the whole things seems out of focus, and there's an odd black triangle in the lower right corner--looks like where the edge of your table is. Should have cropped that off. Overall, good idea but the technicals let it down. 5
