You did great! The moment I saw your photo I fell in love with it. Who hasn't pulled to petals of a daisy to see if he/she loves me or not. I still do! :) Beautiful clean shot and deserved to place.
11/11/2002 11:08:00 AM
Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment. I appreciate it in a BIG way as they really do help me. Regarding the pulled petals that the majority of you wanted to see....I actually had shot with petals lying beside the flower, but in the end I still liked this one better, though I do see what you mean about better meeting the challenge. :-)

I still think this was superb and deserved 1st place circles around the one that got it. You keep getting better with each one. The next has to number 1. You are only going up and that's all that's left. Congratulations. PTL

This is very well done but I would have rated it even higher if there was one petal pulled off and lying near the flower.

Never really thought about this being a superstition before, but I guess it is. Nice shot - would have loved to have seen the torn petals laying beside it. lhall
11/10/2002 10:20:00 AM
Good idea, nice colours.
11/10/2002 10:14:00 AM
Should have had some petals pulled off
11/10/2002 01:42:00 AM
beautiful photo but I would like it more if some or all of the petals had been plucked
11/09/2002 08:28:00 PM
Beautiful photo, but I wish some of the petals had been plucked to really bring out the "love me...loves me not" idea.
11/09/2002 08:11:00 PM
The picture is good, nice colors and focus, i think if there were a few petals picked off the flower and scattered around the ground it would fit the title better.
11/09/2002 06:18:00 PM
No IF's AND's or BUT's - THIS IS NUMBER 1. Georgeous flower, georgeous photo, georgeous colors, georgeous shadow, georgeous cropping, georgeous 10, I can't say enough. Eye APPPEALING. Love you or love you not I love your picture. PTL

Great, sharp image 10
11/09/2002 06:44:00 AM
use photoshop to cover up the black dot on the white pedal, lower part
11/09/2002 12:36:00 AM
Wonderful image! The colorful background makes the flower really stand out. To go with the theme of the challenge, I'd have pulled out at least a few of the petals so that the image would support the title, and would have scored higher with me. 6... coulda been a 9 Crisp focus also enhances this fine picture. Good luck! Grayce aka Gracious :-)

I really like the colors in this. Awesome shot! karmat

Good photograph. Sentiment takes me back to my youth. 7 JEM

Very nice. I really like the color and sharpness of your picture. I have given your picture my best score this week. Lnede

Beautiful
11/08/2002 01:59:00 PM
stunning close - up.
should have gone in next weeks challenge perhaps
11/08/2002 03:18:00 AM
I think it would have been better with some petals missing. Nice shadow and background
11/07/2002 08:16:00 PM
very nice phot although i would have scattered some petals around the flower to make it look as if a person really was having such thoughts.
11/07/2002 07:35:00 PM
I don't think this really works without seeing someone actually pulling off a petal. The title is the only thing that tells you how this relates to the challenge or why this flower is interesting. Good exposure though.
11/07/2002 07:34:00 PM
very nice image 9
11/07/2002 05:42:00 PM
It's a beautiful shot (but it needs the title...) IMO, if you moved the flower to the left about half way across the frame, pulled two or three petals off the flower and arranged them artfully in the space now open on the right, I think this would have been more effective. 9 Swash
11/07/2002 11:14:00 AM
love the color.
11/07/2002 10:48:00 AM
Simply creative! Great color. 9
11/07/2002 10:30:00 AM
Excellent photo. I might have taken off a few petals and put them around to illustrate a bit more. Good concept though and I really like the photo, even if it is a flower - Inspzil
11/07/2002 10:22:00 AM
me gusta mucho, pero creo que hubiera mejorado con algunas hojas caidas...
11/06/2002 04:52:00 PM
Incredible clarity -- well done!
11/06/2002 11:00:00 AM
This is a really awesome yet simple photo and I'm gonna rate it pretty high, but I really wish that the shadow was not quite so dark...
11/06/2002 04:59:00 AM
Nicely executed shot - a good picture in its own right, regardless of the challenge. Sharp, nicely exposed and the blue background sets it off. My only criticism is that without the title, you wouldn't know the relevance to the challenge. Perhaps a few discarded petals in the foreground would have helped?
11/06/2002 12:56:00 AM
Nice shot. The background works quite well with this shot. I feel a bit influenced by the title... I think the shot would feel more complete if there some petals pulled, strewn aside... etc. - JB
11/05/2002 09:26:00 PM
Beautiful! Lovely clean focusing!
11/05/2002 08:45:00 PM
I love the colors in this picture, I would've put some loose petals near the flower, but, it is a very nice picture still.... 8-morterin
11/05/2002 08:01:00 PM
Nice shot and great colours. I think I would expect a few petals removed (may set on the side) to better reflect the title. 8 Jacko.
11/05/2002 02:13:00 PM
its a good photo but I think it relies ont he title too much, if some petals had been pulled off it might have supported itself more
11/05/2002 12:45:00 PM
Gorgeous photo. I would have given you a 10 if some of the petals were pulled to support the title. rated 9
11/05/2002 12:02:00 AM
I think this would have been better if a few of the petals had been pulled out and scattered around.
11/04/2002 10:54:00 PM
Very pretty.
11/04/2002 06:51:00 PM
I think it would have fitted the challenge better with one or two lose petals lying on one side, and maybe a hand pulling at one of them. Otherwise it's a nice shot.
11/04/2002 03:04:00 PM
Should have a few petals taken off, laying next to the flower. 9/10!
11/04/2002 01:22:00 PM
IMO this would have been stronger if there was a pulled petal lying next to the flower. Nice flower shot though.
11/04/2002 12:18:00 PM
Exclent focus and colour saturation, a little overexposed
11/04/2002 12:05:00 PM
great flowers shot. Very sharp.
11/04/2002 11:58:00 AM
aha - loaded today-
11/04/2002 11:54:00 AM
A phew torn of leaves might have made the shot a bit more in context with the caption (?) Great lightning and a well exposed picture, good work !
11/04/2002 11:16:00 AM
A pulled off petal laying next to it would help the title. Good colors, lighting and DOF.
11/04/2002 11:01:00 AM
nice macro--good concept--10 this week and next--bobgaither
11/04/2002 10:01:00 AM
Beautiful photo, lighting, background and clarity. Would have been cool to have removed some of the petals, but I think that the thought is there anyway, good job!
11/04/2002 08:37:00 AM
Excellent photo! Bright, but not over-exposed. (10)
11/04/2002 01:49:00 AM
A really nice shot. I love the colors and the focus is super. It probably would have hit the challenge a bit better if you pulled a few of the petals though. Good Job, you are ready for the Macro Challenge!! DPz
11/04/2002 01:21:00 AM
would also make a great submission for this weeks challenge as well.
11/04/2002 01:04:00 AM
Very nice Macro! For the quality of the picture, I score you high because it is so well shot. I think for the challenge, however, I think it would have had more impact if some of the petals were already picked off. Just my own thought. In any event, I really like the blue background. It makes the white flower really stand out. Nicely done.
11/04/2002 01:00:00 AM
Superb, but I think I would have left the 'picked' petal in the photo. Superb nevertheless ~ 10!
11/04/2002 12:58:00 AM
Nice picture, but I would've pulled some petals off to better represent the superstition.
