It amazes me how a slightly unusual border can bother so much. It will only make me use them even more.

I too like the border (and I'm not, generally, a border person). But this is kind of like reading a book -quality border. It fits with the tilt. Congrats on the creativity and light!

I like the border - gives him something to lean against. He could have a bit at his feet too if you were so inclined. How did you light this? Feels integrated but I suspect you used lights? And how did you get ahold of Leonardo DiCaprio? Tones are excellent as always. I like the subtle touch of the fade to desat sorta thing.

Fantastic lighting on top of a beautiful scene and intriguing border. How come I didn't see this one before?! +fav

Love the border. The picture on the right sort of ruins it.

Hmm. That doesn't make much sense. Does the opposite make any more sense?

The border at least gives him something to be leaning against. Seems to be lovely light and that one lone tree seems vaguely surreal or at least into the realm of painting, with complete control of the background elements.

Beautiful image. I really like the tones and the lighting. I'm not in love with the black bar on the left. I hope it's a part of the original view because if it's added SC might not consider it a frame. Matters not to me, this is 9 material! Congrats.

The shot and the PP are excellent, but the border kinda ruins it.

I love the lighting in this. Has a very storybook feel to it. Would interested in knowing the setup and post processing.

Odd! Love the exposure and the idea. The tree at the back really makes the shot for me.

Kind of odd the way he's leaning. I'm not sure what I am supposed to be seeing here. Maybe if I read French...

LOVE this --- the processing, the detail, the colors, the composition, his outfit, the tree in the background. One of my absolute favs in the FS. IMO just lose the border and a tad more below his right foot. 9

I like the feel of this and I love the tree's silhouette in the background. Bare feet was a great touch.

The composition, pose, dressing, background but mainly the light give this image the look and feel of a 17th century Netherlands painting (and I don't mind much the band on the left, though I think I could do without it). Very beautiful indeed.

The way he is leaning feels unnatural. Cool photo though.

Excellent shot all around. Love the classic old age feel of the shot. Don't think it needs that thick black border on the left. But then again without it he looks to be leaning way too much. Maybe add a border to the right side as well and it'll look like he's standing out of a door way but then that might be DQable. All in all if you had a shot with the young man in a different pose...

I wish his eyes were open. I like the processing and the leaning back (but not the border. (not voting yet)

This is pretty cool, don´t really get the black border on the left but it doesn´t really bother me. Dig the lighting and processing, it´s ace!

well, for me this is a great photo. interesting the use of the black band on the left side for balancig the composition, isn't a frame I don't know if is regular but this isn't mine problem. really a good image. wait only now I see the little thin black border around the image... eheheh a good trick :)
