 This is my daughter Lauren and her harp. I was trying to get a photo of all 3 kids and their instruments for my husband's birthday next week ... this came out much better than the group shot. It was a challenge to get the lighting so the black dress would show up against the black backdrop ... but this is the dress she wears for performances, so she had to wear it!

Congratulations on a beautiful photo (and family); I thought maybe it was another accomplished self-portrait from your daughter. It didn't occur to me until reading your Photographer's Comments how tricky the black on black must have been.

I'm really surprised this didn't come in higher! It's a fantastic portrait! I really hope your hubby is happy with this! (And the others you took of course). Perhaps a touch more light in the eyes would have done it!

Beautiful girl and technically wonderful exposure. In most free studies, portraits almost never survive to the highest scores, but this one goes in my top four images of this challenge.

Very pretty. The position of the hands looks a bit heavy, unnatural...maybe needs a little delicacy to be convincing. Overall quite beautiful.
