I was recently on my honeymoon in Jamaica & Cuba and went out of my way to photograph local people.
This photo is from Cuba. On some of the back streets in Havana there are locals dressed up specifically in the hope of being photographed for money (usually a dollar or two).
Instead of standing back and getting the usual blank stare, I made a point of stepping up closer to engage the "cigar lady"... and this is why she has those watching eyes on me.
If you come across the chance in your travels, pay the locals a few extra dollars than you should. Not only is it good for them, but it will probably be the best souvenir you can buy.

I really do like this image, but there are a few things that would make me love it. The background is much too yellow, and the giant cigar in her mouth doesnt look appealing, Her face is beautiful however I would love to see a closer shot of her face
