Shot on the moving sidewalk between concourses at O'Hare airport in Chicago, which has this great light display hanging from the ceiling. With a camera, layovers can be fun!

I went back and forth several times to see what happened. On each pass, I put the camera on my mini-tripod, roughly guessed what distance to set the focus, then stood where I thought was right. I used F/11 to give myself some DOF leeway. This one had wings, so I entered it.

I agree with everyone who wished I were sharper. It's just hard to hold completely still for 4 seconds on a moving sidewalk!

Oh, cool! I've been fascinated by that underground walkway for as long as it's existed. I remember when they first opened it, they had a negative reaction to the weird music that played; people found it too disorienting. I don't know whether what they play now is much better; I fear it's spoiled "An American in Paris" for me for good.

It must have been a quiet time of day for no one to topple your tripod. On the other hand, maybe not too quiet, or someone would have wanted to officially know why you kept riding the moving walkways back and forth! ;^)

Very cool. I didn't realize you were on a moving sidewalk, I thought those were passing trains. I should have realized they were too close together to be trains though.

Nice creative job, Jeffrey. Way to find the good in travelling! I'll be back to shooting again, over the holiday, and after the new year.

Such a clever and subtle image. I am not normally a big fan of explanatory titles but in this case it is totally bnecessary for fear that otherwise the viewer would miss the wonderful nuances of the shot. I'd be facinated to know how you pulled this off 9

The effect of the lights looking like wings is really neat, but I wish the gentleman could have been more in focus.

Wow, tough shot? How long was the exposure? Could be better focused on the face.

Love the light blur "wings" but wish the subject was just a bit more in-focus.

Hmmmm... Title should of been "Getting his wings at the door of heaven" or something. It looks very nice, something very interesting, and technically good. If you had perfect sharp face there, I believe this could get more points. Good job :)

hmmm... i'm not getting the title. are the lights supposed to be wings? maybe if the man was turned to the right and crouched.
