The 8:1 lighting is fantastic. I also enjoy how the white lace seems to fade into the dark. This is a wonderfully composed image.

Lighting adds interest. An evenly lit pic of the entire ball would have been boring.

This is fab! Not sure on the Sq format, would position the white middle part nearer the bottom right corner myself. But nevertheless great shot 9 JB shot?

Blending the light and shadow makes this more than just a picture of a ball, but still not that interesting.

Better than most.Very good on the lacing, not wholly convinved by the composition. Has real mood, which puts it above the field to start with.

Like the composition, subject matter and DOF but would like to have seen a bit of fill on the left so it is not completely in shadow.

Like this one alot, including the title. Great texture. Would have liked just a little more light to the left. Focus seems right on and the composition is good. I like the laces all leading away from the viewer.
