Excellent image, only thing to correct is the odd little spot on the black. 10

Oh yuck! lol... what a great shot though! I can really feel the texture. Nice subject, good composition.

Great capture of the warts on the skin.

You brought out the bumps on the toad very well.

great subject for texture, nice shot and background.

Very nice focus and color. Well done. This could be a winner, but I haven't been able to pick a winner yet. Although I have been close a few times. Good luck!

Great subject, unfortunately it looks like the eyes are slightly out of focus.
02/22/2004 03:59:21 AM
Wow...now that looks like it would feel like one bumpy frog!
02/21/2004 02:14:02 PM
I like the texture, but you cropped in a little too close to the nose.
02/20/2004 11:57:02 PM
ha! great one. 10

I could like this a lot more if the DOF allowed the whole toad to be in focus especially as it would have given the chance to sharpen it just that tad more to reveal the texture.

How did you get it sit still on that black backdrop?

Almost textbook illustration of this animal. Hugely assured photography, but I feel the concentration is too much on portraiture and not sufficiently on the texture of the thing: I just get the sense that the light is a touch too even to really make a great feature of that wartiness.

Ew .. little monster. Nice framing.

There are not many animals whit more texture than that;)
Good job, Topp 5!!! (10)

with such an interesting frog with probably the best texture I am dissapointed it hasn't been composed or exposed that well. Light seems too harsh and black bg takes it out of it's environment and makes it look more like a model.

to make this solid shot better, I'd like to be closer (photographically of course) to the warts.
02/19/2004 04:50:43 PM
If the whole body was as in focus as the head/eye area, this shot would be awesome. It is still a good shot, but it makes me want to see the body better.

nice shot. love how the light shows the colors
02/19/2004 06:16:15 AM
Did you kiss it??
Light seems a little harsh. somehow the texture contrasts don't come out as well as they could
02/19/2004 12:50:48 AM
Shows the texture of the toad/frog beautifully
02/18/2004 11:17:09 PM
Depth of field seems to be to shallow or there is some camera shake. More light and a tighter aperture would work better here.
02/18/2004 01:52:33 PM
Nice job emphasizing texture but composition seems very textbook. Still I have to give you at least one extra point for getting your model to sit still.

Warts and all... Yes, you sure did capture the texture of this beastie. It's very well done and fun to look at. 9

Great Idea, Just seems that is the photo was a little sharper it would bring out the texture in the toad little better. (7)

Lots of texture here! Nice froggy portrait. The focus seems just a little bit soft to me...or maybe I need more of him in focus. Great lighting.
02/18/2004 10:19:32 AM
some of it looks out of focus
02/18/2004 07:33:14 AM
Cool froggy! Is it dead or alive? The lightning is a bit too harsh I think cause there are some overexposures spots in him, could have put something white in front of the light or something but a good picture and looks very good with the black background - 7
