Wow. This is such a cute, calm looking kitty. I never would have thought that it would be able to rip apart a pencil with those sharp teeth, if I hadn't seen it myself. 2 totally different sides to the same kitty. I would have lliked to have seen the entire cat in the photo. either move the photo up a tad, or back it up a tad. Great focus, lighting and angle. good job and good luck in the challenge.

Beautiful tabby. Has a very interesting eye.

How did you get the cat to participate in this so well? The arrangement of cat, pencil, pad, afghan are all nicely planned in the "still-life" mode. It might have been nice if the color of whatever is under the afghan were just a bit more vivid. Also the pencil being a little out of focus bothers me a little-but not much. I do like cats, by the way, but they don't always lend themselves to the topics of the challenge (or if they do, they don't cooperate and the thing ends up looking really contrived). There are cute cat pictures and there are good cat pictures. This one is good and how nice that it works so well into the theme. Good job and compliments to the cat.

From my perspective:
Meets challenge:Yes
Technical:Good, could be just a tad lighter but really is fine.
Appeal/Artistic:good
Composition:good, except I'd get rid of the clothes on the right. They only add clutter. The lines in the afgan are fine though. They point right to the cat. The back of the cat is cut off though... :-( would like to see the cat's tail included.
Originality:ok
Comments:I love the sweetness in the face of this lovely feline. The picture is very nice.Good luck in the challenge.

Great shot! Funny title. I like cats and cat pictures! (I hope this off sets any anti-cat sentiments you might have received - see rant) She/He has an interesting left eye with the brown spot. The rug/blanket give this a snapshot look, I don't mind, but if you're going for a high score, you might want to think about this.

Good one. I would have cropped in a little bigger behind the cat, but this is still very, VERY good.

Amazing, I have a cat that looks just like this one. Spiller

I would have preferred more interaction between the cat and the pencil. Great focus on the cat but the pencil is lacking. I like how both the black and white parts of the cat has detail.

good cat photo.

Great expression. :)

Is this the same cat as in the entry called "I love pencils"?
I should say straight off that I am not keen on pet photos generally, though not close minded about them. The background seems dark and a little too busy (especially the cloth at the top left). I think the eyes have come out very well and it's great that he/ she is looking right at you. May work better cropped to portrait orientation?

once again the cat or the pencil in focus

you have a very adorable cat there, and photogenic, too. i'm not too thrilled by the background (too many different fabrics, patterns) or the fact that you cut off the cat's butt. could you have taken a portrait format shot? also, and this is just my own opinion, you have met the challenge, but i'm not very excited by the lack of interaction between the cat and the pen. sorry. -- gr8photos (3)

The obligatory cat photo. Cute, though it's really the expression on the cat's face that does it.
