    Biography: I have lived on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington since 1967. I have been a teacher (high school English). Iwas also a real estate agent/assistant.I am now retired. I have served on the City Council for Forks, WA, and I have been involved with economic development in the area. My interest in photography began many years ago because two uncles and my father were avid photographers and I grew up with slide shows, processing black & white photos in the "fruit room", and going to photography club meetings too many years ago to mention. I purchased my first 35mm camera when still in high school and went with digital in 2000, when I decided that the quality was beginning to near what I had been used to with film.

    I like the control from the taking of the photo to the post processing. I have participated in various photo competition sites since 2002 (when I discovered them) and find it a great way to get unbiased feedback on efforts. My favorite "famous" photographers are Ansel Adams, Asheal and Edward Curtis, Josef Scalea and Galen Rowell.
