was a bit scary getting to close to mom's horns,
as I was at the 10mm end on the lens.

There's a a disjointed symmetry to this image, I wonder if you took the S curve of the cow's shapes into account when framing this, or if you saw it later and then cropped accordingly. Still, the expression on the cow is priceless. ;)

This is beyond good - this is awesome. You gotta love the things a wide angle lens can see. Even so, it's the expressions you captured here that make this an incredible shot. DPC prize or no, this is one fine picture.

The added white border to the edge of the picture is too wide in my opinion. Actually i hate borders ;-)

9 - Great capture and example of perspective, fish eye 'advantage' or not. Toning works well here and I imagine any variation in toning, including sepia/colors, as well as the natural colors, still be a great shot. Detail is very good. Really like the angle. Given both the sloping landscape as well as the position of the mother, I wonder if a slight variation in composition and/or framing (wider?, not sure) may have made this an even better image.edit:typo & congratulations
