I loved this shot! It's nearly as good as I've seen in National Geographic. You managed to capture a bit of personality of the animal as well.
The bits of mud on his nose and claws made the shot that much more interesting. |

Thanks to all of the voters who liked and supported my photo. I have to agree now that I do think the border was a bit to much.
The hardest part was having to hold that heavy 70-300mm lens and camera steady.
But all in all it was one great shot :)

lol.. now if that isn't a restful pose I don't know what is. Good clear shot. Not fond of the frame but it still gets a 7 from me :) |

Nice shot but I find that the frame is a bit much. I would only have placed one half the width of the one shown here. I find it takes away from this cool image more than it adds to it. |

This is a nice meerkat but the black border is too heavy, in my opinion |

What a cool critter! He/she reminds me of some ladies I know at church, with the honest, smiling face, gentle look, monotone clothing, hands primly in front, whatever. Anyway. I hope you never show up at my church :) I like the frame. ~8 |

The subject just screams personality. I like the detail in his/her fur and the orangey color as well. He looks as if he was purposely posed for a portrait picture! I even like the black border which to me holds the picture together nicely. The lil bugger sure looks pleased with himself! |
