water for the hair

Her eyes
The windows to her soul
A simple message
of self-control
An idol word
her lips resist
No malice
in her voice exists
Censored by
her silent tongue
She tells with
a quiet expression
For in her eyes
compassion seeks
The light of when
no evil speaks

Fantastic self portrait! Those scary eyes are going to haunt me for a while now ... at least I know you meant to look at us all that way ;)

critque club**
I dont know where to even look for anything to critque on this photo, you seem to have captured this image exactly like you probably imagined, I like how your title and the hair over the lips comes together. the image grain is really done well.. not too much like some of the previous entries i've been seeing. one thing that bugs me a bit is the loss of info on the nose, I know it was done intentional but a bit of burning to leave a small out line might have helped but that is just solely my own view to this. you have done a great job on this shot. my favorite part of it is the eyes.they glow beautifully!

congrats on your score :)

top 20! Way to go! I hope I told you I loved this during the challenge, seems like it got into a pm somewhere along the line - but I'm old and I forget things sometimes - meant to let you know anyway. You're getting awesomer and awesomer by the second! Can't wait to see what's next.

I keep coming back to this photo trying to figure out if I like it or not. So it gets points for at least stirring my interest. Still not sure that it works for me though it is a good shot. Still it is in my top ten percent.

Oh great, now I'm gonna have that Twisted Sister song stuck in my head for the next week...ehh...it's a decent song, I suppose.

You've developed quite a style and are certainly recognizable without it. This is a striking image that while probably not a ribboner, is definately memorable. All the same, I hope that you do well and I will help you along by giving you a decent vote. I like how the light is reflecting off of your pupils...the inversion there adds to the total effect of your image.

the word looks incorrectly spelled ... not coming down for that though - a very interesting image. The eyes are beautifully captured and mysterious -let's go 7.

Very creative and "speaks" volumes with that expression. Its almost overexposed but works well with the noise. The only thinkg distracting to me is the glare from the light in her eyes. Nice job!

hmmm, would the subject say "more grain"? At first I thought this, but then I think it wouldn't add. The grain does a nice job here. I will say though, I am all over the board on voting here and it's hard to be consistent. Sucks you spelled "speak" wrong. 7

You are amazing. I love this. The criss cross of the hair - so imaginative. The title - Man, this is too good for words. This has such complexity and is thought provoking. The intensity of the eyes too. All I can say is: WOW 10

Mandy my dear....You may have just pulled off a ribbon this time. I know you have it in you. Excellent photo with just the right amount of grain. 10.
