Thank you so much for all of the comments and votes. I traveled quite a way to get this shot (not unusual for me during the storm season). I am very pleased with the result. I hope to ribbon by my ? challenge, wish me luck. Thanks again!

You got that right! :-) The ground strikes are really cool, but the lightning above the clouds is just amazing. There might be a bit too much black on top, but otherwise this is a really gorgeous photo of an outstanding subject. Great job!

It is, isn't? Love watching lightning....as dangerous as it is, it sure is a wonder of nature. Like the two story view you got here and you got a lot of strikes in one image. Guess it was a fairly long exposure...did you use a ND filter? More than one or something else....that and an IR are something I've been meaning to get. Maybe for the next camera. Great shot and good luck!

Very nice, I wanted to give this a higher score but felt it needed something other than just the lightning and cloud. Maybe something on the ground to give it a sense of scale. I realise that may be a difficulty, with storms you take what you can get ;-)

Still a great job, one of my top twenty picks. Good Luck

this is lovely and striking. the upper third is unnessecary though. The clouds and the strikes are the focal point here. you still get a fine score from me.

very cool picture, but there's no way I'd guess what the D&L are without the title, and I think that meeting this challenge requires a visual cue
