This shot was not intended to be sensuous, but rather innocent and artistic. I hope it came off that way.

I got alot of critique about lighting and the blinds. Truthfully with only 4 frames taken in my bathroom with only one light bulb and what was coming thru the window I was suprised it turned out this good. Thanks for the votes and comments everyone!

Great shot; Like Helen Hunt in As Good As It Gets. Absolutely beautiful

Seems like this is the appropriate image to comment upon, for a 41st birthday; if you looked like this at 40, unless you've really gone downhill fast I imagine you're a fine figure of a 41-year-old woman :-) Happy birthday to you!

This is just not right. Thank God your daughter has more sense than you.
There is a very good reason she was uncomfortable.

Lighting and sharpness aside, this is a well posed, touching image. It deserves its score. It could be a tad more sensual than intended but might not be if she were tying a big ribbon(Perhaps white) in her hair. The blinds are not level which is distracting and would be better if they were not there at all, but then you probably would have got ZERO shots instead of four. Your model(daughter), though quite young, is a very brave and classy girl.

I think the lighting here is actually pretty good. The pose is so reminiscent of Helen Hunt in the movie "As Good As It Gets," where Greg Kinnear is frantically sketching her beautiful lines. I'd have to say that you captured a great deal of innocence here too. The lines are not "mature" shall we say, yet they are still uniquely feminine and very artistically presented. Very nice job.

I really like this shot. Anyone who has taken that "time for me" knows how wonderful it can be! I would have liked just a little bit of more light and detail on the left, but this isn't bad at all. I think what really makes the photo for me are the boutique bottles in the bottom right. Really adds a nice touch to an already great mood for the photo.

You daughter has nothing to be ashamed of - very beautiful. However, I do agree with some of the other comments regarding the lighting and sharpness. But it is a beautiful shot in spite of the circumstances.

Nice shot. Maybe turn just a bit away from the light so it falls on her back a little more. I like the blinds being partially opened as well. good job!

Skin tones on the red side, probably due to lighting. Composition works well. Like the added bottles - add texture.

The crop seems a little too aggressive at the bottom and right edges. The strong horizontal lines in the blinds reveal that the camera wasn't level. This tutorial explains how to fix uneven horizons. Good job on the lighting.

Looks so natural. Was this was made with natural light?

I like the lighting on the skin! Would of liked to have seen a little more on her back. The blinds could have been a little straighter. Nice model though and good effort but had to mark it down a tad for this.

Looks like it could be a Douglas Hoffmann lithograph. I love the way the crystal is nearly invisible and that the body tones are complemented so nicely by the color coming through the window.

Great picture!! One of my favourites. The story about this special and personal moment is telling succesfully.
I like the contrast of colors, the subtle DOP and texture. Good luck!

This is nice...On my monitor it has a sharpening halo around the body.

Very classic look. The blinds, bottles and soothing blues make this easy to look at. The pose matches the surroundings. The only thing that, to me, causes this to have a sub 10 score is the post processing. The outline seems to harsh. This would have been great with a soft focus feel to it.

This is very nice. I like the lighting, and the embelishments (purfume bottles). The only thing I don't care for is that she is centered. But that is just me. :) Good luck.

This comes SO close to being a wonderful image. I love the rich colors. But it feels a little over-processed. Her hair seems over-contrasted, and there is some grain, especially visible in the blinds. 8

mmm...why does this shot make me think of "As Good As It Gets"...?...nicely done...however i think you could have used the light to better effect on the back of your subject instead of having the whole area in shadow...6

Very lovely shot. May be a bit over processed in neat image. I'm quite sure that over processed look is what's bothering me here. I also may have had the blinds slightly more closed. Not for the modesty of the model, but rather for a more solid background. Good luck.

08/24/2005 06:25:44 PM
I find the blinds somewhat distracting from a lighting standpoint, for me it creates too sharp a line between the model and the bg. Maybe if they were completely closed? Otherwise I like the rest of the lighting, the pose, the crop, towel, and the props - they all work well together. Very nicely done.

Very pretty. I feel the lighting is off though, Would like to see the lighting drawing attention to the beautiful curve of her back which is too hidden by shadow. Color and composition were wonderful.

One of my favourites.
Beautifull setting, colours, focus, lighting etc.
The image speaks peace & quiet to me. something I get too little of with two young boys.

enevr without a face this model has an aire of innocence to her. The midtones on the back are kind of lost. Since her back is the focus point you may have been better off to use a light to highlight this part as right now all the light iscoming from the window which, althought pretty, renders the back detail-less.

This reminds me of the painting by Ingres of the bathing woman..I like the composition, light and softness, the venetian blinds are a little distracting.

The lighting is a tad strong on the white tub and the blinds in the background are a little busy. I really like the placement of the towel and the glass containers.

I really like this pose. Classical. I'm not quite sure about the blinds, but oh well. It might be a little too USM on her hair too. (But don't we all over USM these days...) 9.

As much as I liked this, it didn't seem very original to me. However the quality is great and there is nothing prettier then the female form. "That is the reason men painted on cave walls."/ As Good As It Gets.

I like this pose and setup. The slightly tilted blinds bug me just a little, but are not a big deal. I think her back could use just a little more light, maybe just from a reflector, not an actual light.

This is anice photo, with inplicit sensuality and beauty. But too much sharpened. Look for example the left side of the torso. It looks like if a line was drawn. The same thing happens in the towel in the right side of the women.
