Not sure what is being advertised here .... |

I would have liked to see her whole face and just better lighting all over. and what is this ad for? |

Cute model :) but the picture lacks focus. If the target of the picture is the pepsi bottle, then it might have been nice to have at least made sure the bottle was well-lit and facing front. The whole left-side of the model is in shadow, and I think it would have been better served (the picture) to have her turn, or take the picture at a different time of day, or bring your own lights, so that this wasn't the case. A much-tighter zoom would have been good, too. This might be nitpicky (even more than the rest of this) but her outfit is itself an ad that only distracts. In other words, you have 4 separate focal points (the bottle, the girl, the clothes, and the background), and toning that down a bit would have served this photo well. Still, I gave it a higher score, if only for the overall effort, and having a live model :) |

too many shadows on the girl and the Pepsi bottle is not prominently displayed(the 'P' in Pepsi is not even in view). |

You need more focus on the product. Perhaps if you had a closeup of the woman drinking the Pepsi, you would project more attention on the product. The photo is in a nice setting. |

I think this could have been a pretty good photo. 1. She is not looking very enthused or looking at the camera and 2. All I can see is the psi on the bottle. Maybe turning her more towards the sun? |

Pretty girl and a nice setting. The hard side lighting would be improved with some fill, or a reflector, or turning the whole scene so the subjects faced in to the sun. I'd have asked her to hold the bottle with more of the logo on the label showing, as well, and maybe used a bottle with more Pepsi inside. Do they really have green labels, or is that a WB issue (I live at the edge of the earth)? |

I feel like you are trying to advertise her and not pepsi, Maybe if you had her drinking it and take the picture closer up and from the side. Just a thought |

Too much background, a tighter crop would have worked? |

the colors are kinda flat and it makes it difficult to get the details. Also, all the greens and grays say cool early spring day instead of warm summer day. |

Her or the drink? Um...kidding of course. Good attempt, left side is a bit too dark. Maybe you could have taken it from a lower angle to get more sky and less rock. |

Pretty girl, what's her name? |
05/08/2002 07:26:00 PM |
should be able to read PEPSI |
05/08/2002 01:57:00 PM |
The backgound blends too much with the girl so she doesn't stand out. Maybe if she was wearing a red or yellow shirt without lettering. You also need some better lighting, too many dark shadows. And perhaps if she was looking down at the Pepsi bottle like she was really interested in it instead of you. |

For a product ad, like this, I think you might want to try to make sure that all the product's name is in the shot. Also, the bottle of Pepsi is really small in the shot -- a tighter crop on the girl could help that some. While the lighting is great for the rocks behind her, it really shadows the right side of her face. It's kind of typical, but I think I would have had her drinking from the bottle, faced a little more toward the sun, and zoomed in a bit. That way you could still have the nice background, but with a little more on the proudct placement. |

I think if you're going to have a cute girl in an advertising photo, her face shouldn't be almost completely in shadow. Also, the pepsi bottle isn't as prominant as the logo on her shirt, which is confusing. The setting is interesting for a photo, but not enticing for an advertising shot.
Lastly, can I have a cute boy bring me my pepsi, please? :) Actually, I guess the rationale behind using girls in most advertising is because the males in the audience want her, and the girls in the audience want to be her, so it's win-win.... somehow. |

lighting doesn't help her much, too much from her left, almost a 'hatchet' lighting, which doesn't flatter. Maybe a vertical framing would work better too ? |

get in closer and use your to flashto fill those shadows - brighter more colourful background would help - and portrait rather than landsape |

A tighter crop and a fill flash would have helped this photo immensely. This really should be portrait-mode, and with more light on the Pepsi. |

This is a great idea but it is a bit dark on the left side.. I think a Lightdisc would have helped.. |

shadow on her face really detracts. scenery in nice |

05/07/2002 06:46:00 AM |
nice, shame half her face is in shadow |
05/07/2002 06:43:00 AM |
You probably don't need all of the background in this photo. Cropping would have helped. Also ... get in closer to your subject and watch out for shadows cast by the sun. |

Looks like she prefers Coke.. |
05/06/2002 10:58:00 PM |
i think your product should have had a larger role in this photo. the bottle should have at least been turned so it doesnt look like "epsi" |

The only problem I can see with this is that the girls face is too shaded. Even though you are outside, if you have a fill flash on your camera try that. |

Nothing better on a summer day than a pretty woman. What are you selling? |
05/06/2002 06:52:00 PM |
Not having your picture taken. |

You should have had her facing the sun. |

In most cases a gorgeous woman can sell anything however, this photo lacks focus on the product. Using the flash may of brighten up the harsh shdows on her face. The background is a bit distracting. I guess the shooting was going a bit hard it looks like some of the pop was drank as well :) |
05/06/2002 01:51:00 PM |
It would be better if she was either seen drinking it or at least happy to be holding it. Photographically, the shot is well composed but the strong shadows detract for me. Would a fill flash have been possible? |

Almost great! Is this an advertisement for EPSI? Good thing the logo is recognizable! Also, turn your subject 20 degrees into the sun. Let's see her whole face. Photo 9 Advert 8 Creativity 7 total 8 |

for me, there's no appeal, the pepsi looks warm on a hot summer day ...but if she was sitting on the rocks or the rise and facing the sun without those awful shadows on her face (and wearing sunglasses) with a cool breeze blowing thru her hair, thoroughly enjoying her solitary moment with the pepsi...that would be different, because i'd wish it was me! |

05/06/2002 12:52:00 PM |
Humm, we read her tshirt and can't see the bottle clearly. Shot is somewhat dark, her pretty face is hidden. Top needs some crop.
05/06/2002 12:24:00 PM |
I don't think the picture is focused enough on the bottle of Pepsi to make it an advertisement. |
05/06/2002 09:12:00 AM |
Poorly lit -- you should have had her turn to the right so that the sun was more-so on her. The Pepsi itself is too small to really portray your meaning. This seems like a snapshot. |
05/06/2002 07:54:00 AM |
Use fill flash to eliminate shadows on the subject. |
05/06/2002 07:44:00 AM |
product name isn't even showing very well. |
05/06/2002 05:38:00 AM |
What are we talking about here, the pepsi or the girl holding the pepsi? |
05/06/2002 05:03:00 AM |
You needed to make a product a little more prominent in the photograph. You are trying to sell the Pepsi, not the girl. |
05/06/2002 04:27:00 AM |
I like pepsi too... A closer shot with a vertical frame may have brought the pepsi bottle in as a larger 'subject' in the photo... |

Shadows on the left side of the model's face are a bit too deep, otherwise nice! |
