My kind of photo to save! I love humor in advertising.

Sorry, I only see a snapshot here, with a distracting rope/cable/line down the middle.
05/12/2002 09:58:00 PM
The gas sign and wires are reeally distracting.
05/12/2002 08:32:00 PM
Cute idea, seems pretty snap shot though.

I've hears of May Pops for a long time, but now I know that they are available. Where the heck do you live that gas is only $1.2? a gallon? Not California for sure.
05/11/2002 06:55:00 PM
Prices slashed...
05/11/2002 06:13:00 AM
Rather humourous!

Funny sign, but not really an appealing image of a product in any way that I can come up with... well, I guess there's the image of the tire in the sign, but that's as far as I can stretch. There was a 'signs' challenge a while back where this would have fit better, IMO.

If you could have gotten someone to kind of moved the wires and poles back a little-------this is funny!
05/10/2002 02:57:00 PM
Shame about the confusing background. The cables detract from the sign. Otherwise, nice shot
05/09/2002 09:26:00 PM
As a picture, you could have possibly changed the angle to make it more interesting or eliminated the gas sign. As for humor: it's great. Very possibly the funniest picture here.
05/09/2002 03:32:00 PM
boring and ugly too many wires and not creative at all
05/09/2002 11:48:00 AM
funny, but very uncreative...also the power lines are just too much
05/09/2002 12:19:00 AM
How funny! Contents are a little busy!
05/08/2002 05:39:00 PM
does a picture of an advertising sign constitute and advertising picture? even if it did this shot could be much improved by adjusting the brightness so the sign was easier to see
05/08/2002 02:11:00 PM
Did you make this up or is it it a well known sign in your area? In any case I can't see it being used this way in an adverisement.
05/08/2002 11:13:00 AM
Such a busy background -- really makes it hard to pay attention to the sign. Were there any signs on the building selling the tires? Maybe using one of them, getting some tires in the shot. The contrast here is also a little off -- the sign is darker than it should be -- like it's been backlit. Was the other side of the sign brighter?
05/08/2002 08:01:00 AM
not if it may pop! : )
05/07/2002 02:33:00 PM
Is this for real? I don't think I want any tires from this guy.
05/07/2002 01:52:00 PM
ROFL!
05/07/2002 10:54:00 AM
I want to move there - gas is much cheaper than here in Northern Virginia! As for the photo, it has a snapshot feel to it with the wires and the cut-off gas sign. Also only borderline fulfills the challenge (at least the way I interprete it) because you didn't create your own ad.
05/07/2002 09:34:00 AM
Haha! Where is this place?
05/06/2002 11:00:00 PM
i wish i had something good to say about this photo, but taking a picture of a billboard (with a ton of wires in the background), does not constitute an advertisement shot
05/06/2002 05:48:00 PM
The idea of this is not too bad, but the execution leaves a little to be desired. The wires and the poles really are distracting as is the gas sign in the back. The only suggestion that I can offer, is to try and crop it more or get a tighter framing. Maybe you could try it from a different angle to counteract all the distracting elements.
05/06/2002 01:42:00 PM
nice find
05/06/2002 01:24:00 PM
LOL I don't think I'm gonna buy tires over there. But then again, the sign also says that his used tires are new :-)
But seriously, I like this pictue a lot.
05/06/2002 12:42:00 PM
Too easy. Just a sign and dark too!
The wires are more eye catching then the sign.
Doesn't make me want to buy these, but I will give ya it's an ad!!
Okay.
05/06/2002 12:22:00 PM
power lines are distracting
05/06/2002 10:48:00 AM
Good focus and it does advertise, kinda boring. Photo 8 Advert 6 total 7
05/06/2002 07:59:00 AM
This is hilarious. I have given it a high mark just because it made me laugh. Tehcnically it is a little bit washed out.
05/06/2002 07:54:00 AM
well, this advert was setup by someone else.
05/06/2002 04:04:00 AM
This is not a good subject for an advertisement photo.. The poles, wires, the wire on your main sign, and the gas station sign in the background make this photo a little 'busy'....
05/06/2002 04:35:00 PM
tut tut darned Americans, don't they know its spelt TYRE? !?!?!?!

hehehehehe I really like this it has a nice bit of humour in it. I think the wires are a bit distracting though
