This was a one in a million shot ..
It was an amazing moment being able to photograph the robber fly just after it had caught its prey .. which i think is a common green bottle fly ..
If the robber fly had been consuming it for a while then the green bottle fly would have started to lose its shape and become a gooey ugly mess ..
The fact that it had been raining and there were droplets was icing on the cake ..

Thanks so much for the comments and votes .. AND THE BLUE .. !! .. xx

Here's an incredibly interesting article about the robber flies ..

Robber flies are fierce predators and resourceful lovers

You stun me... just as the robber fly.

So perfect, Roz!

Beautiful imagery with stunning colors, lighting and dew drops. Certainly an amazing moment to capture.
The female insect looks so different from the male, almost looks to be a different breed of insect.

I love how you incorporate water drops in a lot of your images. No doubt this will do well, the detail is amazing as usual Roz. :)
