 Yes, this is Levitated Mass, which has made a prior appearance on DPC. This is the other side of the boulder, and while I think it's less interesting in terms of features, it's more expressive of the great weight I think a lot of us are feeling at the moment.

I love this piece - which was a hugely controversial purchase for the museum - because it causes people to behaving in completely counterintuitive ways; who the heck intentionally goes to stand under a 340-ton boulder? And take pictures of it??? The entire installation is elegant, brutalist, minimalist, outrageous. And to my eye, beautiful.

It's hard to really grasp it's enormity unless you're under or near it. But you can get a pretty good perspective of it's size and the size of the entire installation in this shot, taken from the "Death Star", a term the architect of L.A.'s latest House of Exaltation to the Biz - the Motion Picture Museum - despises.

I should have commented sooner. Stunning image. The balance of perfect-for-the-scene sky and boulder is exquisite, and I love that the figure is dark/amorphous in the midst of all this ethereal light.

Wow! What a stunning installation. Being "expert", when I opened it I thought you had cleverly composed this image. Amazing colour range as well.The cloudy sky is perfect here (IMO).
