Challenge: A Single Tree IV (Extended Editing*)
Collection: Portfolio
Camera: Canon EOS R5
Lens: Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0L IS

My composition evolved over time. At first I was going to use a crystal lens ball. I even ordered one online thinking it would get to me before the due date. As it was getting close and no delivery I realized it was coming from China so I had to think of something else. I had a small glass vase that was perfect to fit in my hand. Then I needed a tree. I drove all around, even hiked near the local reservoir and didnít find the one I had imagined. Stupid me. The perfect tree was in my front yard!

I took a bunch of shots with my hand holding the vase against a white background planning to photoshop it against a different background. I didnít like any of the backgrounds I had shot so I decided to leave it white. I wanted a blue sky but we had only had grey and rain for several days until the last day! Thank goodness I got my blue sky:) finally I had taken pictures of a rabbit and deer over the previous 2 weeks for no other reason except for fun and decided to use them in the picture. The Title was the easiest part as that was how the idea had originally materialized in my mind. Anyway thatís how it all came about.

I was going to say something about it being odd that I didn't recognize you in your image this time... then I read Roz's comment. LOL!

Congratulations on your ribbon, Larry!

I love your message. Funny, 10-15 years ago hands-off the natural wilderness was said to be the way to go, but now things are changing so rapidly that who knows what we can do.

when this opened i thought it might be a Larry hand .
i could be totally wrong of course .. not having seen his hands IRL or even taken much notice here in dpc ..
so now i've gone on and on about Larry's hands .. i might take this opportunity to make a comment on this AWESOME image ..
its the second pic i've come on in this challenge that's a fantastic image all by itself .. but also has a message .
love what you have created here .. its excellent .. :)

a few seconds later ..
i had given you a 9 .. then noticed that the other pic i was talking about got a 10 ... so because they are both wonderful i'm bumping you up .. :)
