 This is a composite of approximately 4-5 drone photos taken from different points above the pier at different camera angles (the first one very low and almost horizontally, the last one very high and straight down). The trick is then combine them in Photoshop in a seamless vertical panorama, it is not straightforward, especially with the ocean surface constantly changing. So it involved quite a bit of tweaking in Photoshop using various transformation tools and some cloning. This is not my original idea, this technique has recently become popular among drone photographers, there is even a special term for it now, "droneception" , the wordplay on the footage from the famous sci-fi action movie "Inception".

Well-done -- I would not have recognized this as a composite without your welcome explanation.

To me it looks like the view from the top of a bizarre water-slide. :-)
