I really don't like when photographers get awarded for an image and then use others from the same shoot in other challenges. But I liked how this turned out enough to endure a little self-loathing. :-)

(After voting)
I have to say I'm quite surprised where it finished as it spend most of the week in the low 6's and I thought I was spot-on with my thinking. I'm glad you appreciated it on its own.

And Robert, it's actually 6 images. The 4th in the sequence hid the chickadee on the right but I needed it for the squirrel, and the 5th has the bird reemerging but the squirrel landing on the feeder could not be shown in a way that made it visually appealing.

many congratulations on the ribbon ..
and i'm very impressed with your focusing abilities .. getting action shots in focus is something i find very difficult .. seems like you have nailed it .. :)

and really .. dont go the self-loathing rout .. or is it route .. i feel it was warranted as its a great image .. this one and your previous one too .. and looks like you didnt get penalized for it either .. winning on both counts .. :)

Self-Loathing is fine and well but it had to be done. How could you NOT have entered this one?

Is that all one bird, or are there two, Jake? Actually, I can see it has to be two because of the 5-count, unless you're spoofing us... Cool shot!
