 This is partially mixed oil-based paint. Just some vanilla monochrome off-white paint in an old 1-gallon can. When I opened it, I saw that the paint sank to the bottom, and there was a layer of oil above it. When I started mixing it with a stick for some paint job I needed to do, I saw these amazing patterns forming, so I stopped and took a few close-up photos right inside the can. Surprisingly, with some color temperature tweaking and saturation boost, a lot of different colors popped up.

ETA: Back in 2006 I entered another one from the same series into "Abstract II" challenge, AND IT ALSO CAME IN 4TH! (from 325 entries, those were different times...). What the hell is going on here?! ))

Love seeing the explanation in the notes, don't have any more oil based paints in the house but made for a great abstract image

The red part distresses me. I'd have cropped off the top (leaving a horizontal image). but, I wouldn't have gotten an HM. *rolleyes*

this is amazing .. not something i could ever imagine creating or finding anywhere on this planet .
did you take a spaceship somewhere and find this memorable assortment of shapes and colours in a far flung galaxy ..
very original and different ..
many congratulations on the fourth place ... even tho i think its cheating when you leave planet earth for your challenge entries . :)
