 This is sweet Lilly. She is one of my sister’s horses who changes the lives of special needs kids in her equestrian therapy program. I wish I could share some of the amazing stories of love and healing between the kids and these empathic, kind and loving animals! My heart always overflows when I walk up to them in their pens. They stop what they’re doing and walk right up to me. Because I love animals so much, and they feel it, they’ll snuggle up to me and lay their head on my shoulder while I hug and pet them. I always tell my sister that I could never own horses of my own because I’d want them to cuddle up with me on the couch at night. They’d have me so wrapped around their hooves that they’d forget they were great big horses!

I don’t know how this will do — if it’s artful enough — but it makes my heart flutter because I love this horse so much.

What a magnificent shot Sandy! Congratulations on the Red Ribbon. :) Great story behind the photo too. I can tell that Lily is a sweet sweet lady. The way that you add such softness to your images, yet maintain the focus that you need is artistic and masterful. Well done!

This is a stunningly beautiful horse photo. I am never brave enough to try crops like this but it really works well here as you have cropped it perfectly. Really touching info behind this photo too - thank you for sharing this. And of course congrats on the ribbon.
