Once again, I really like this photo. I agree with one comment about the sky. If in photoshop you could get a bit more contrast in it I think it could help the picture immensely.

I can see the definition is there in the sky waiting to get out but I understand that for this site its hard to get all the elements to balance out becasue of being limited to no layers to seperate the various levels. Still great photo :-)

really excellent dramatic image. great use of the ferry to frame the skyline!

black and white certainly makes this image

This is one of my favorites. It causes the viewer to take a second look. The dark in the foreground really contrasts nicely with the grey of the cityscape, and I like the way the ferry opening forms a "natural" frame for the picture.

what a great idea and tremendous framing. great sharpness and tonality
04/26/2002 01:54:00 PM
I like the way you framed/composed this. B+W is effective too.
04/26/2002 07:49:00 AM
Nice use of Black and White, it suits the subject.
04/26/2002 02:30:00 AM
maybe more transportation - change of position but not of state
04/25/2002 03:22:00 PM
while you can't do much about it for this contest without cheating, I think you might up the quality of this pic a bit by adding a little more contrast to the skyline itself so it's not quite so flat
04/24/2002 08:17:00 PM
Wow, cool. I have never been on a farey.Great pic.
04/24/2002 02:12:00 PM
I like the use of B&W here. Neat shot.
04/24/2002 10:07:00 AM
love the composition with the dark frame from the ferry
04/23/2002 08:31:00 PM
Love the dark aspect of the inside of the ferry.
04/23/2002 08:15:00 PM
great framing. really nice contrast.
04/23/2002 05:17:00 PM
This is a wonderful transition !
04/23/2002 04:57:00 PM
Excellent Composition.

I like this shot a lot. Nicely centered... although I wish the cars could be more symetrical. The image is very busy, which isn't such a bad thing in this case. Your meaning is clearly shown.
04/22/2002 09:10:00 PM
I'll just say that I love this photo and leave it at that.. good job!
04/22/2002 08:40:00 PM
looks like the cars are in some kind of spaceship, but alas, it's only a ferry. i like this picture
04/22/2002 08:35:00 PM
Difficult framing pulled off nicely. How did this look in color? I'm not sure b&w is the best for this, but I do like the darkness in the cars, putting more emphasis on the horizon and what awaits the travellers
04/22/2002 07:57:00 PM
nice shot, good framing
04/22/2002 02:13:00 PM
Whats the transition?
04/22/2002 01:21:00 PM
One of my top 3 images. Great contrast and composition and a physical discription of transitions
04/22/2002 01:19:00 PM
cool idea, but the photo looks a little dark, however it could just be my monitor
04/22/2002 12:48:00 PM
really good shot. I like the b/w as apposed to color in this. good choice
04/22/2002 12:39:00 PM
That's great. The b&w serves this picture well.
04/22/2002 10:51:00 AM
like being at the drive-in
04/22/2002 09:04:00 AM
transition from one side to the other - also like the dark to light 'portal' view. Good use of black & white, nice leading 'lines' of the cars. Well framed - good shot. Only problem is, the subject matter isn't too arresting/ interesting to me.
04/22/2002 07:59:00 AM
Neat!
04/22/2002 06:21:00 AM
Nicely framed shot. Works well in B&W.
04/23/2002 02:54:00 PM
Great shot..But where was it taken?......
04/22/2002 05:37:00 AM
the black and white works very well with this picture.
