The eloquence of that big empty space on the left is incredible. I don't understand how that works. As though the story is flowing from its depths. Congrats on the ribbon, John.

I love the fact that the guy isn't even looking at the pigeons. I'd love to know what has his attention! Congrats on the finish! This is fabulous.

Simply outstanding. I'm still coming to terms with the fact that there are gentlemen left in the world like this. The shoes, the hat, the sunglasses, the pose, the pigeons.

Nothing like a sharp dressed man pull a bird or two. Jagarishly clever overtones gives me more to think about than birdseed, and an optimistic romantic with plumage on offer will prove the damsels are well to be wary of this mans' intentions. An 8 for your hungry birds and their gigolo ;)

Bumping up, love how casual this man is, he seems completely unaware he has a bird on his hand, where do you find these people, amazing!! See you on the front page, in the top 3 I'm assuming.

ok -- this smacks of Jagar. Sorry if it's not (but hopefully you're not insulted, because it's a huge compliment, imo. :) I love the the door on the left is appearing from the darkness. I love the lighting, I love exploring this.

I think I have seen these bw tones before and they are still magnificent. Great simplistic image.

Voted earlier coming back to comment.

B&W tones are fabulous! The man standing there looks to be waiting for more 'guests' to arrive. With only 4 pigeons 'at the table' there is room for more to join in on the feast:-) It makes me wonder where is he keeping the food for the birds - mayhap in his pant pocket? Nice capture of a slice of life.

Fabulous street shot... perfect light, and I love the story...he does seem kind of oblivious, doesn't he?... maybe it's the dark glasses.

This is a new comment series for me, so please bear with me while I find my style!

(Voted earlier)

This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. John, really no one gets close to you for work like this. Many of us tried a couple of weeks ago and no one got anything like this. Your images might just be future classics.

2. For me, it's that glow you get in your image that fascinates - I've tried to emulate it and I never get it right.

3. What a character, what a scene - he's shambolically cool! With that pose, he could earn a living as a model!

4. The light is fabulous, catching his face while allowing the alcove to fall into heavy shadow.

5. The cluster of pigeons and the one on his arm are fabulously engaging and take the image beyond a 'simple' candid portrait.

Overall, you give us yet another opportunity to witness your wizardry!
