		| | Here be the place to post your snapshots for the August Snapshot side challenge!
 A quote from Ansel Adams:

The snapshot is not as simple a statement as some may believe. It represents something that each of us has seen -- more as human beings than photographers -- and wants to keep as a memento, a special thing encountered. The little icons that return from the photo-finisher provide recollections of events, people, and places; they stir memories and create fantasies. Through the billions of snapshots made each year a visual history of our times is recorded in enormous detail.

 Rules and/or suggestions....

No minimum number of posts but try to keep it to no more than one a day.
No carefully set up set-up shots or studio portraits.
 No well-calculated and executed landscapes.

DO enter everyday snapshots of your kids, your pets, your friends, your flower garden, your neighbor drinking beer, your vacation, your trip to the grocery store. Bonus points for stuff shot during the death hours of 10-2 outside, in full sun. DO remember that the lowly snapshot is the birth of modern affordable (more or less) photography for the masses. If it weren't for the lowly snapshot, none of us would have the nifty toys we have today. If you have a point and shoot, get it out and carry it everywhere. Snap away!

Editing rules - no editing rules. Resize and submit, or edit the crap out of it. All up to you!

Comments? Sure - we all love getting comments. But kindly relax the tendency to correct the technicals in this one. Feel free to react ("reminds me of my Aunt Grace's back yard when we were growing up"). No need to comment on every shot, of course, but do kindly try to at least VIEW every shot. Snapshots really do like getting a little attention, you know.

		| | Number one!

My girlfriend excitedly taking photos with the camera I got for her, and me reveling in my E Series 50mm 1.8.
I don't have her photo at the ready.

		| | Oh, and if there's a bit of a story to go with your snapshot, stick it in the photog's notes (and here in the thread if you want.) I know a picture is worth a thousand words and all that, but sometimes the words are fun, too! |

If there isn't a story posted with an image, can I make one up for them?

		| | As I understand this project, I'm going to be posting up those images that just inspired me to shoot them, regardless of what resulted. The ones that aren't blatantly obvious I will try to explain the motivation.

I liked how this woman in the wheelchair's day was made easier by the outside table. She looked content to me.

Emma says "thanks!" for all the kind comments - she's loving the attention! (But she has enough now - you can comment on some of the more recent entries instead.)

 From the other thread...

You can edit the crap out of your snapshots if you so desire - no editing rules here. I'd suggest you minimize cropping - chances are you'll change the whole feel of the snapshot if you get too carried away with cropping. Slight tilts are good. Clutter is good.
