Unlucky greece! Who ever said it, you're right...a team full of stars doesn't guarantee success, but by greece's showing in this championship, neither does a team without any!!! Thankfully it seems, positive play and tactics seem to be winning the day.
Hey now...no one has gotten it twice in a row... and we had no stars last time around. At any rate I understand the excitement as Portugal's chances of getting it and Ronaldo not crying again have increased exponentially now that were out of it. Hehehe...
Great showing and resolve by Turkey! |

Yeah.. wtf?! What's with the passing problems? Ballack's penalty kick was beautiful though. Goals don't get more perfect than that. |

It'll be a good game I hope between portugal and germany...lets hope both teams are firing on all cylinders, eh! On current showing, if I had to stake my life on it, I would just edge portugal on that one, however, I don't (have to stake my life on it...thank god!), and you can never ever rule out the germans. To be honest though, I don't think portugal will win the euro 2008, even if they do beat the krauts! They just haven't impressed me enough, as much as I'm pained to say that. I can see a holland vs croatia final in all honesty - the two most impressive and consistent teams in the tournament!!! As for greece, well, worthy winners in 2004, I think this time round, they lacked youth and suprise!!! but a very well organised team and with a bit of luck may have gotten into the quarters this time round. Lets hope you beat spain...difficult though against torres and villa! |

I thought it was a free kick, not a penalty kick. And yes, it was sweet. |

Given my current location, I'm going to have to go with Germany. And I'll even watch the match against Portugal, since I'm pretty darn sure it will be covered on television here.... :-) |

Gotta be on the free channels - and I'm sure it will be. My neighbor will point me in the right direction. Lots of German flags out this week here. But I did see one large flag of Portugal hanging out of one window... :-) |

Well I think I'll stay with the Dutch - they are playing a great game at the moment.
So much easier watching this without fretting about wht England are going to do - or not do . . |

Maybe, but the Italy v Netherlands will be a pretty good final!! I still think Netherlands look the best bet for Euro 2008. |

Its going to be a tough game for Italy and in order for them to win, Luca Toni needs to start finishing better.
He's getting so many chances and no goals. It makes me miss the days of Christian Vieri. |

Damn! I wanted Romania...just because it was annoying to hear the Italian and French coaches whining about Holland - Romania going to be a fixed result... Especially considering Romania drew and beat Holland on their way to the Euro.
Russia -Sweden the game to watch today! I will obviously check out Greece -Spain too and see what needs to be done for the Mundial, although it's obvious and Mango nailed it anyway. |

Now that the 2004 champions are out. Im supporting Holland
They play such great ball. they have:
1. the oragnization and discipline of norther european teams
2. Individual players that posses a samba-esque ball control that makes Brasilians look like polka dancers
3. Play clean (see: not letting romania win to knock out supposed greater teams to be eliminated)
Also, Good luck to Portugal!
I dont know if its possible to have a por-hol final, but that would be a great match |
