I would say Spain too, best individual talent I think, but Dios mio do they have a bad record after the group stage...

Spain has not defeated Italy in official match in the last 88 years!!
But i like to see that none give us a chance to win the championship, we will take our steps little by little, walking under the shadows of the big teams, and we will see...

They play such great ball. they have:
1. the oragnization and discipline of norther european teams
2. Individual players that posses a samba-esque ball control that makes Brasilians look like polka dancers
3. Play clean (see: not letting romania win to knock out supposed greater teams to be eliminated)

Also, Good luck to Portugal!
I dont know if its possible to have a por-hol final, but that would be a great match

Portugal vs Holland final is possible! Can't see portugal getting there though...will be tough to beat germany and croatia (if they beat turkey in the quarters of course) on the way to that final! Still think Holland vs Croatia final :-(

I don't subscribe to records - they're there to be broken! Portugal hadn't beaten spain full stop for something like 30 years before they knocked them out in euro 2004!

I think spain will probably have the edge on that one, however, italy have begun to gain momentum and if toni gets his act together, italy may possibly win that encounter - I'm starting to like the look of them!

Whatever the results of the quarters, they're all going to be cracking games.

I'm for Spain on that... Italy...euros.... 4 world titles (what more to say) It's about time Espana didn't under-achieve.

Vamos Furias Rojas!

It will be a tough one! It will be good to see Arshavin play, even as a substitution!

I don't know who I will support saturday evening.
The Dutch? Well, I am Dutch.....
The Russians? Well, my wife is Russian. Tuesday I go to Russia and I do not want a "special treatment" at the airport because we beat the Russians....

I think I will watch the game with a bottle of Vodka and decide who I support after drinking beforementioned bottle. :)

I like Holland, but I will root for the Russians... It was good to see them play the ball I knew they could! (I also have had money on them from the beginning ; p )

Tough luck for us...mundial preparations now with some changes and new faces I reckon...

may the best team win - as long as that happens, I can't complain! I'm keeping my fingers crossed though, that my happy little nation doesn't see a repeat of the world cup semi-final!!! :(

I think you can look at it as a win/win situation. :-) But if the Dutch win, try not to look too Dutch in Russia.

My normally sleepy little town isn't exactly quiet at the moment. :-)

Portugal bit the dust...again!!! Ferreira - you're an absolute muppet, two of those goals were down to you - go and retire! And as for scolari...well, lets just say I'm not unhappy that you're leaving.

Germany, you played well and you had a game plan...my wholehearted congratulations...well done! Good luck in the semis.
