Why do you say that? It's not blurry, it's actually focused...just has a shallow aperture and the focal point is set back some.

Joking, of course. That shot was a lot more blurry than I saw it for some reason. I love to be hard on myself.

I'm guessing this is going to be all about the blur, and chaotic/disorganized ... i.e., abstract .... images will get hammered.

That won't stop me from entering one though ...

Anyone tried a bit of camera tossing lately!
03/05/2008 01:12:18 PM · #30
LOL - camera tossing! That sounds frighteningly tempting.
03/05/2008 01:14:00 PM · #31
I've done "blurry mess" before! And one of the comments even has the word "chaotic" in it.
Just invert that voting scale and it could be a winner...or one like it, of course. ;)

Camera toss was my thought as well.

And another one 'cause it doesn't have as many views as it deserves.

hmmmm!

Keep in mind that the challenge says "Blurry MESS". The above photo doesn't quite fit the challenge, IMO.

I got home last night, saw the challenge, and was all set with a submission, when I realized I'd shot it just shortly before the rollover ... :-(

Captured driving home with the shutter open on a rainy evening. Blurred shots are my favorite thing.

If you haven't already, see this thread (and the one which spawned it). We also have a relatively new (only some 1100 photos) site gallery devoted to Blur shots.

[thumb]654919[/thumb] Okay...this is from a party Sat. night. I figure I just need to drink tequila again and get out the camera! It worked here!

As a challenge, this is fascinating:

your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is the create the blurriest, most chaotic and disorganized image you canĂ¢€”and still have it be engaging and interesting.

"Blurry", "chaotic", "disorganized": what a fantastic recipe for creativity :-) I can only pray that the voters will keep this description to heart as they make their rounds...

lol already got the strangest look today, I was at this place shooting this thing (gota keep the secret ;) ) anyway this lady is looking over my shoulder and I take a "blurry" pic and get all excited with the view of my pic on the little lcd and she recommended I used a tripod as the pics would turn out much better :P I figured it would have been to hard to explain so I thanked her for her advice and chuckled as I left back to work...

Already having fun with this one LOL

"...create the blurriest, most chaotic and disorganized image you can"

Are you sure this isn't harmful to the camera?

The announcement of this challenge inspired me to return to this shot from last summer. My startegy: Being caught by surprise, poorly prepared, and having fumbly fingers.

Is this a blurry enough mess, do you think?

It's a blurry enough mess, but there's a second part to the description.

--- and still have it be engaging and interesting --- ;oP

I see saxophones! Are saxophones interesting? Engaging?

Not in this presentation. Maybe a little over the line on the blurry side. This is all subjective, right?

Anyways, just pointing out that just because something is a blurry mess, it doesn't necessarily meet the description. But, who reads the description? Certainly not the voters. ;oP
