Incidentally, re: easy schedules, Patriots played Colts, Steelers, and Chargers and beat them all...That's all the other division winners in the AFC. They also played and beat the Cowboys, the Giants, and the Redskins, 3 of the playoff teams from the NFC. So that's six games against six playoff teams, all victories :-)

Now they do not have that 6-0 10- 0 16-0 to fall back on. The presure has been turned up to high. One loss sends you home, I think they will fall to the presure before the big dance.

No, the Pats have been behind several times this season, including last week with the Giants.

Unlike everyone else, when under that pressure they have held together and played great football on both sides to come back from behind every time.

As for the pressure, it's the same for all of the teams. Unless there's some new rule that lets some teams lose and move on to the next round.

I am just saying the Pats no longer have that comfort zone. Trust me it will be on their minds too especially the guys like Randy Moss who had been in this situation a few times only to watch things go haywire around him. This is going to be the first game that offically controls their season up until now all they had to worry about was not winning 16 games.

What comfort zone?

Do you think none of the other teams are under pressure? I'm sure those guys are all thinking, "Playoffs, Schlayoffs, no big deal." while the Pats players are lined up outside the team shrink's office having anxiety attacks.

The past 15 games of the regular Season the Pat have had a deadlock on their division. They knew 7 weeks ago they were going to the playoffs. They knew there was a game next week and a loss wouldn't effect their goal of getting to the superbowl. That is a comfort zone, compared to say Washington who just barely made the playoffs and have gone through the last 6 weeks fighting harder to make the playoffs.

Yes all the teams feel the presure. But most of the teams playing this week and again next have felt that presure since week 10. The pats have not.

I don't agree with this for a couple reasons:

1: the Pats have had a different kind of pressure all season, because they had history within their grasp. And they coped with it very well, even when things looked bleak for them. They are one of the great clutch teams of all time, and their oppos know this. Everyone knows they have to play mistake-free football to beat the Pats, and that is pressure, added to the playoff pressure.

2: The Pats are by far the most seasoned playoff team this year, except maybe the Colts, I'm not sure. But they know what it takes, and that's a huge advantage.

When i was in Ireland a few years back, there was a great Guinness commercial based upon hurling. It looked like something out of Braveheart (and yes, I know that Braveheart is Scottish).

It looks pretty brutal.

If the Eagles were in the playoffs. (And even then I would doubt it).

All this Patriots talk is premature. They don't even play until next week. Let's stir the pot a little on Wildcard Weekend:

Redskins at the Seahawks -
Skins have a 4 game win streak on and are playing very good football, but Seattle is a tough place to play a playoff game.
Pick: Seattle at home. Their opportunistic defense will come up with a big play in the 4th quarter
Hawks 27-21

Jaguars at the Steelers -
This is my most anticipated game this weekend. It's possible that the Jags are playing the best football of any team headed into the post season, and they've already beaten Pittsburgh at Pittsburgh this season. It's hard to win in Pittsburgh twice in a month though. Big Ben is a great clutch player, so even without Willie Parker, you have to like the Steelers here.
Pick: Steelers in a low scoring affair
Pittsburgh 20-13

Giants at Buccaneers -
The Giants layed it all on the line last weekend against New England, in a game they could have just phoned in, and by all accounts, played well enough to win (doggone those Perfect Pats). They showed a lot of heart and determination, and I think that momentum will carry through this weekend. I honestly don't know much about Tampa Bay - never saw them play this year. So...
Pick: The G-men
Giants 28-14

Titans at Chargers -
The Chargers are heavily favored at home, and the Titans are a little banged up. Vince won't be 100% and the Chargers have too many weapons. Look for this to be fairly one sided.
Pick: Chargers
31-13

My predictions (as if anyone really cares what I think):

Seahawks/Redskins: I'll give the Redskins the edge here, If they can get Portis on track and control the ball, they have a real shot. Low scoring game- Redskins 14, Seahawks 10.

Giants/Buccaneers: This is going to be a good game. I think the Giants can pull this off. Garcia has had a great year for the Bucs, but the Giants should be able to put alot of pressure on him and help lower some pressure on Eli. Giants 17, Bucs 13.

Jaguars/Steelers: Best game of the weekend. Everyone is talking defense on this one, I predict an offensive shootout. Jaguars pull it out with closing second field goal- Jags 30, Steelers 27.

Titans/Chargers: Phillip Rivers is a punk and should thank his lucky stars that he has LT. LT scores 3 before halftime, sits by the 4th. Titans 14, Chargers 28.

I tried to find a stat to see how many playoff starts each QB has. I couldn't dig it up.

Well there's a slight difference though. The Seahawks' playoff experience is filled with lots of failure unlike the Patriots. Granted it's not like the Buffalo Bills losing 4 super bowls or anything but I think it's far better to have no experience going in than having to overcome some personal demons from past playoff experiences. Hasslebeck has plenty of that and to be fair Brady's last year wasn't all that super either especially against the Chargers who they should have lost to before losing to the Colts.

Tom Brady's playoff stats

Matt Hasselbeck's playoff stats

Brady has only had 1 game in which his QB rating was below 70% in 14 playoff games compared to Hasselbeck's 4 such games out of 7 playoff games in total.

Looks like the nation is getting a taste of the unknown Seattle Seahawks...

I like how all 3 NBC analysts picked Washington. Not looking so good so far. It's not over, but it shouldn't be as close as it is. Washington got really lucky with the incomplete pass call on that fumble by Collins.

And I just found out he went to my high school!!

Gotta love them Hawks. Take an early 7-0 lead, then Skins defense is hammering on them, and they say "OK we can hammer back!" : 10-0 at halftime. Go Hawks!
