I just thought it be MORE active. I see that I was unclear about that.
I was looking to see more of the OOB pics here too.

Well, it's a nomination thread for later award-giving, so it pretty much is open for whenever someone wants to nominate, and there are the usual lulls in nomination activity that you might expect. More lull than not lately, granted, but I'd rather someone nominate when they really want to, than to have pics listed just for the sake of keeping things hopping in the thread. In that sense, the thread kind of runs itself.

And if you page through the thread, you'll be able to see all past nominees, and a forum search in thread titles for "Oobie" will show you all past winners.

If you've got something to nominate, don't be shy, by all means post it right here and when we have enough nominees they'll go on to a vote! :)

True, but I don't want to start a fight. Michelle, you are sooo opinionated! ;)

ack! not at all! :)

I'm always glad to see noms from you Michelle, you make excellent choices, and help me out when I don't have time to review recent challenges and look for some myself. I do wish we would get more participation from others on DPC, though, but everyone seems to be favoring the Posthumous Awards thread more, lately (that's not strictly oob-related, of course, but cut from a similar cloth). I've quieted down a bit on my own nominating lately simply because I don't want to turn the oobie noms into "whatever Karen thinks is oob". I may be Queen of OYNC, but I'm no tyrant. :)

But that's ok - lulls happen, we just have to ride it out.

From the "Hot" challenge:

As SaraR commented, this is a lovely capture of a hot summer day. Even better, a capture evoking the memories of hot summer days. Nice work.

yappie nomination -- ambaker. If I don't get with it, he is going to sail past me in number of critique club comments. . . He's flat tearin' it up.

I love it when someone clearly meets the challenge, takes a beautiful picture, and still confuses the DPC voters so much that she almost gets brown. That is classic OOBIEness.

This 'July Free Study' so deserves an 'OBBIE', for many reasons. The first reason, it that it is a great macro, also a great crop, fantastic detail, amazing clarity, textures, and color. SandyP.

It looks like a made an error re the above 'OBBIE' nomination, so sorry about that.

With a new Canon macro lens, this is truly an amazing talent from the photographer we all love, Sandy. SandyP.
