nominate FocusPoint

Since there was only one nomination for last week, I'm rolling that nomination into the new pile of nominations for this week.

A new round of OOBIE nominations has begun. OOBIE noms posted here between March 16-22 will go to the vote March 23.

Post your OOBIE and YAPPIE nominations here!

I nominate tootsweet for a Yappie.
She's a non-camera member, who joined specifically for the sake of commenting. During her brief 3 weeks of membership, she has left about as many comments as I've managed to leave in a year. Her comments are honest, thought-through, and tolerant of other points of view.

I second the nomination of tootsweet.

Also, did we ever award Karen ( krnodil) her Yappie??

I agree about Tootsweet. When I got a comment from her, I was amazed to see how many she has left in such a short period. She really seems to enjoy participating that way.

Now that was so under-rated ...

I want to nominate zeuszen for a Yappie. His comments are incredible. His latest comment on e301's environmental portrait is terrific.

I would like to nominate this image for an oobie award. I think a lot of people really missed the wonderful lines and composition, as well as the subtle subject. It was in the blurry mess challenge, and I think it truly was very underappreciated.

It was called Exciting by FocusPoint

She has left some very helpful comments for me, and I think she is quite unique, since she is participating on DPC just to enjoy the photos, and to comment. I hope she keeps it up.

Have we awarded any Obies and Yappies lately?

At any rate, I have an Oobie nomination from Mug Shot:

by hajeka

And it's an actual mug he had made! How cool is that!

I don't know if I have a say on this, but I'll say it anyhow:

YES!!!

Many apologies, guys. OOBIEs and YAPPIEs had to go on forced hiatus for several weeks due to an overloaded work schedule on my part. The nominations from 3/20 to date will go on to vote, and we'll start a new round of nominations right now.

Because it is mid-week, we'll let this current round of nominations go for longer than usual - nominations will run from April 9-April 19 and go to the vote April 20. Also, a new month means a new round of YAPPIE nominations, so get 'em in when you've got one!

Post your nominations for an OOBIE or a YAPPIE here!

I love this one also. A clever and creative brainism.

Since krnodil was up against some unbeatable competition last month, I am going to re-nominate her for a Yappie. Check her comments. She is fighting the good fight.

you guys are too much - looks like Jeffrey will have to field the Yappie vote in May, too. :)

I don't feel like much of a nominee right now, to be honest - haven't had a lot of time for commenting in the past month...but thank you for the nod!

I second the nomination. It was two months ago Karen was nominated and I never saw any award thread that month. I don't remember any other nominee that month. However, I realize that without being a TS member I may not be privy to all the inner secrets of the YAPPIE election process. Anyway, a YAPPIE for Karen is overdue.

Melethia won that month's vote, and we upgraded the award to a Cat Yappie, since she has been overdue for that distinction. The award itself got posted a bit late, but it got there in the end. :)

OK, thanks for the explanation. I thought the CAT YAPPIE was a separate award.
