Mary, could you please tell how you make the numbers in bold? |
When you make a post, there are 6 icons at the top left. The "B" means bold. You highlight the text you want bolded and click on the B icon. |

Hi :)
And to "prove" I suck. I took well over 100 shots for motion panning and didn't get even a single keeper out of the bunch. *sigh*
But, I've got an idea I *think* is good for Entrance - just waiting until the bigger littles are in bed to see if I can make it work or not.

THIS WEEK'S ESPECIALLY EXCITING RESULTS
=======================================
BLUE=======Team Entropy===5.78
RED========Team Novice====5.77085
YELLOW=====Butterflies====5.679333333
s.q.=======Team Minus=====5.6123
BROWN======The Hoovers====5.251333333
Congratulations to NikonJeb for the RIBBON!! As punishment, he receives the Momentary Lack of Sucking award, via which he must comment on all the Team Suck images from this week (which he has not already commented on ).
A Bold Note On Rules Rules are only bad when they're bad rules. Here at Team Suck, we have lots of rules, and we cherish them. The important thing is that they follow two criteria:
1) They are capricious and arbitrary, thus creating a sense of mystique that discerning photographers find so alluring.
2) They promote a sense of fairplay for the competition portion of our festivities. It's all well and good to say "rules schmules" but when people are competing against each other they like to feel they are on a somewhat level playing field.
And now to our new members. I suggest cosprenks for Team Entropy and Brookied for OOFers. That will give them 7 players, but both are having attendance problems.
a bold note on suspensions. We're not suspending people from Team Suck. We're just taking them off of subteams so that we can go on competing each week. When they come back, they can rejoin their teams.

My Motion Pan is doing much better than I thought... watch out, Deb!
another note on new members: I am perfectly happy to leave recruitment/membership up to the subteams. I just don't want to leave someone hanging when they come on to the thread. Let's make 7 the new max until we have to break it again.

A big welcome to cosprenks, kashi and Brookied!
Well, Team Novice, we've avoided the brown for two weeks in a row! I must say, however, my Match score is going to bring us dowwwwwwwn. It is at an all-time low for me, of 4.5 or similar. I may be in contention for the personal brown on this one! Julianne, your ridiculously high score in Match will not be enough to save this one, I'm afraid. :-)
Note to self: stick wif pwetty aminal fotoz.

The idea of a personal brown is very amusing. Thanks for the laugh and the complement on my ridiculous Match score, which is currently 6.5. |

I am soooo happy to be part of a team, and I didn't have to stand on my head or do magic tricks. I will do my best to make you proud. Please let me know what I need to do. |

It helps to enter challenges when you can.
Every Wednesday we post thumbnails to the results of last week's challenges. We encourage you to look through the member's photographs and make comments/suggestions.
Remind us to have fun if we are too serious.
There is an icon available for team entropy if you would like one for your profile page.

Well my match photo is taking a beating, and I know why, and you can count on some questions after the challenge. Best of 06 is doing ok, 6.1, but getting a new high in comments, and all positive, I would have the blue ribbon wrapped up, if for 26 votes, LOL.

i'm not dead! just quiet.
i haven't posted much this last few days but i'm in it for "best of" and "battle"
in "battle" i'm holding a 5.28 with 15 comments ( most of them from women ). i think i jumped sides for this challenges.
but 5.2 is way better than i've been doing lately so perhaps things are looking up again.
don't mistake my silence for inactivity. i will be entering "entrance" and "wildlife" to support the team.
i'm proud of entropy and especially of jeb. we all know he took us over the top this time.
chris.

Well, I'm sure our fearless leader Don posthumous will come up with something quirky but fun if you didn't already get your "initition rite." If you haven't figured it out by now, we're not exactly like the um "big boys/girls" competing on the WPL.
My only words of wisdom (take this with a whole truck full of salt):
a) enter lots of challenges
b) don't be afraid to try something totally different (we don't care if you score highly or not)
c) comments tend to b a give-and-you-shall receive kind of thing. Give Team Suck members lots of comments on their portfolio and/or contest entries, and you'll get lots of comments on yours. We strive to be up-beat, helpful and honest in our comments. Some of my Suckmates have not been overly-fond of certain entries, and they let me know, but in such a way that it's all good at the end of the day :-)
d) it's okay to enter an entry every once in awhile that is a DPC-crowd pleaser and you know will score well. We all need that ego boost sometimes while struggling with our, um, more creative sides.
e) the only real rules are whatever Don makes up at the time. Arbitrariness is next to godliness at Team Suck.
Remember, Sucking is a state of mind. Feel the zen of suckiness surrounding you like a skunk left too long in a trunk, and you too shall suck...or run like hell. We all like the skunk and have made it our own.
Edit to add: damn, must quit typing after taking Ambien.

time for some shameless promotiono f a friend's newest endeavour. it's a great site - have a look! if you like it, pass this on!
Announcing
the end of television (as we know it!)
and the beginning of untv.ca!
NOT DOT COM!!!
If you're reading this, you're either family or friend ... or friend of a friend (or friend of a friend's friend). Or at the very least, friendly. And that's good, because we'd like to ask a friendly favour. Can you please forward this e-mail to everybody you know in the world --- your entire personal (or business, if you think you can get away with it) distribution list?
(Thanks!)
Like proud parents, we're pleased to announce the arrival of untv.ca.
What is untv.ca ?
It's television (hence the 'tv')
But not (hence the 'un')
Or to put it another way, untv.ca is Canada's (hence the 'ca') first internet tv station!
And it's free!
A broadband channel producing original content for an on-demand audience not to mention on-demand content for an original audience.
Thanks to the infinite flexibility of the internet, untv.ca delivers comedy, drama, music, news and current affairs whenever you want it and wherever you want it. YOUR schedule is OUR schedule.
untv.ca is for everyone (we have a broad range of shows) but our content is geared for an audience looking for television to download (to iPods, cell phones and Apple's new mobile 'phone and AppleTV set top box).
Until now, untv.ca has been ours --- the brainchild of Dawn Harwood-Jones, Roberta Hancock and Steven Morrison (yes, untv.ca has two mummies and one daddy). But we're all about inclusion, so as of right now -- it's YOURS. No matter where you live, it belongs to YOU. Although untv.ca originates in Canada, it's global in scope. So whether you're joining us from Lower Economy, Nova Scotia or East Groin, Antarctica, we promise to have something that will appeal to you. And if we don't, we want to hear from you!
Stop by. Browse awhile. Come back and visit us often (and tell us what you think ΓΆ€“ yes, we really want to know.)
What you'll see on untv.ca today is purposely un finished. (Hey, we're still in beta mode!). New developments are underway and shows will be added regularly, including (soon!) a user generated content facility and lots of other unexpected surprises.
untv.ca
Viral television. Pass it on! PLEASE!

Hey Hoovers! We won the Brown! Have we ever won the Brown before? I'm proud of my ability to contribute to that with some very, umm, brown-like scores.
And Don, you may well have me in MP II. I'm a "scores off" kinda gal now so I don't know by how much but I only have two comments. |
