Not gonna look. Not gonna look. I must not update my preferences to see scores. Still, I have received 7 comments. Unfortunately none were all that complimentary.
It was a very good image for me. But based on what is being said, I may not even break a 5 with this one.

Hmmmmm, I don't think I've heard of this crowd. What are their characteristics? I'd like my vote inflated. Maybe you could direct them my way.

Vote how YOU want. There is no right and no wrong way to vote. Just to let you know, your average vote cast will show on your profile. So if you state you're a liberal type voter (no reference to politics please) and your average vote cast is a 3, you might get flamed by some. |

Well, it seems like you got a 1 and a 2. It's one of the things that will forever piss me off. I really think if you give a 1 or a 10 you should be required to comment. Especially when the average is as high as an 8.5
The fact I just had a sudden drop as well. Leads me to believe there is some twit giving out 1's for the fun of it.

Rich, I think you will. You just need to figure out what the voters like (I know, it's hard to do sometimes). I didn't get a 6.x until my tenth challenge, but have gotten 8 in my 27 completed challenges this years. (althought they are usually closely followed by a low 5.)

As different as that is from my style of voting. I think it is a very fair methodology.
I have a lot of issue with photographs that are clearly well executred technically (composed nicely, exposed nicely, etc) and get a ribbon but then have a couple of 1's. There is absolutely no justification in my opinion. No one will talk me to believe otherwise. And screw opinion. Frankly, I could vote any image without a black border as a 1 in the name of personal preference. But that is not fair voting. And takes no account of photography. Better off going to vote on what an ink blot means.
