Well, my score is falling....

I am now back into the 5's. Upper fives but it's frustrating because if it falls much further I'll be pretty bummed.

I feel this is a good entry. And there are times when I feel my entries have scored well below what they deserve. I'd really like to see this score above 6.0

The last one I had hopes for was the following and it didn't even break 6

*shrug*

This one I really had hopes for perhaps not a ribbon but a high placement and to break the 6.0

Very true. I agree completely. Unfortunately there will always be trolls.

Also, I was thinking about it and even if folk were required to comment to leave a 1,2 or 3, then they'd just leave some lame comment that has no meaning or substance, and move on, or 4,5,6 would become the new 1,2,3 and the voting spread would just be compressed etc.

So at the end of the day I guess we just have to enter photos that we like and sit back and take it.

I think just for 1 & 10.

And even if they leave a lame comment. Well, at least there is a comment. Comments leave a name (at least after the vote).

I think it'd eliminate trolls. Especially if the system denoted it was a 1 or a 2.

In truth, any photo I vote a 1 or a 10 I am willing to explain my decision. As I have justificatin for such a vote. Frankly, if you don't you shouldn't vote. That's my opinion.

Unless the point is to let the photog know the name of who just gave them a 1, I don't see what forcing a 1/2/3 voter to leave a comment would accomplish. If I voted a 1/2 on something I would leave a comment which you should already be able to divine from my vote - it is a complete piece of shit, go take up knitting. You still wouldn't agree, just if you were actively watching your score at the time you'd be able to send me hatemail in response.

Hey Jason ..... I hear what you are saying but it really makes little difference in the way things will get done around here. This was part of the reason I left first time. In truth, the problem is not in the way the site is run and so on, the problem is with the way you let it affect you. It creates much more frustration for you and none for the trolls creating "your" problem. Think about it.

Rider - in all seriousness, have you considered getting your eyes checked? Not a joke, not an insult. I looked through your received comments and you do get a lot of out-of-focus comments and rightfully so I'm afraid. If you can't see that (no pun intended), it could be something as simple as a bump in prescription. Good luck!

Indeed.

I chose my best photo taken this month, I think it's actually one of the better photos I've ever taken and feel good about it, feel it shows great improvement when compared to other work in my portfolio. And here in lies the fun of voting- my image isn't exactly up against the others in my portfolio but is seen in an anonymous context with over 600 other images...

A couple people like it so far, most don't... Obviously I wish the people that didn't like it would leave comments as to why- like boring subject or technical problems, but no matter. This is supposed to fun- and it is, whether the majority likes my image or not:)

Sometimes, do others feel like I do, and that at DPC, one goes from a huge high, to a huge low, in no time at all, and sometimes wonder if it is all worth it. Boy, do I feel like that these past few days, and it really is beginning to feel very disappointing to feel like this.

I take a huge amount of pride, time, and effort, in putting so much time into voting and commenting, and to see so many ups and downs, again I wonder if it is really worth it. Boy, I have just said that twice now.....

I am having a really grouchy day, but remember some of the words said, or even not said, really can and do effect many people, so let lighten up and be a little more encouraging with positive with our thoughts please.

I am also trying my best to give surportive comments, so as not to hurt anyone, and hopefully encourage them to lear,n and always try and give something positive as well. I do hope I have done this.

I have never seen scores fluctuate with so many members score lately. Mine imcluded, but I guess it just this way, because it is. I don't expect ribbbons, or "10"s and "9"s, but just a little encouragement in seeing a score at least stabalize, and not go up and down, like a yoyo.....

Gee I am a grumble bum today, and think I need to go back to bed and get up on the other side.

Thanks for listening.

I'm going through exactly the same yoyo trip as you are. I've had 4 fantastic comments but my score certainly doesn't reflect them. Arrgghh!

Well, I'm done voting for the day. More tomorrow...
I'm hitting my stride at 4.9 in this challenge, hoping to break a 5.
My purple challenge is doing well. My abstract macro is so-so.
My "unrelatedness" is uploaded and finalized.

Thinking "Ink Blot" for High Contrast voters. ::mischievous grin::

Good Luck and have a terrific day everyone!

Trying to put at least something down for each photo. Boy it's taking a long time though!

Mine is just below 5.5
