Something I've noticed the last few challenges is that more votes are getting thrown out. Thank you site council and D&L for looking out for us.
(example: last update for new challenge had 282 votes and final votes were only 265.)

Got a 5.9

Will likely drop to a 5.2 by tonight.

The bummer is I wanted to re-crop it. But didn't have the large size with me. And cropping the entry would have reduced the size less than 640x (and we all know there are !@#$ who like to give 1's if the image is not the maximum allowable size). So I decided to wait till I got home after work.

Well, I didn't leave the office until almost midnight. Bummer, cause I think a different crop on my shot would have equalled another 0.3 increase in score. And might have giving me a chance at place in the top 25%.

*blargh*

same trouble here... i was sitting at 6.5-ish when i left the house this morning... i really wish people would vote _after_ the morning cup of coffee, and not before...

At 20 votes I was at 6.35. At 40 votes I'm at 5.9. Maybe they had too many cups of coffee?

guess people don't like the more abstract negatives....but oh well it has all been fun anyways :-)

As for voting I just finished going through all the entries. From what I saw there were a very select few amazing photos. And there were a lot of images in the 3-5 range. From what I saw a lot of people think that just because it is a good photo makes it a good negative. When offten too much detail, or shadows, cause the photo to look very poor as a negative.

Still intresting, and nice to see some pretty creative work. :-)

Wow... Mine keeps dropping.

I wish I had more comments. I mean, I can't do better if I don't know why it's dorky. But out of 36 people, one comment may be normal.

I haven't voted on any yet, I want to look at them all first. Some are really interesting.

I didn't enter this one. too scared. I inversed my complimentry colors shot just for fun and it looked kinda neat, but I'm glad I left it over there. It's at 6.4.

So that's where my 1/2 a point just went. Yup...in one hour I went from a 5.9+ to a 5.5...and steadily falling. I am so prophetic or maybe just pathetic. *lol*

How does one "see" votes on their pictures? I've searched around and have yet to figure that one out.

I liked mine better before viewing some of the really well done negative shots in this challenge. So I gues it deserves what it gets here. Oh well. Good luck to everyone else.

Along the left-hand side of your home page it should show your current entry with stats. For registered users they are updated hourly, at 10 minutes past the hour, so for the first 70 minutes of voting it'll say that statistics are not available. If you're referring to individual votes, those aren't available, but folks calculate them by frequent updates and math.

I've dropped an entire point since 8:10 this morning! Went from a 6.3 to a 5.3! Ahhh!
Who's stealing my points!? < :~/
I guess my picture looks nicer before sunrise...or before the alcohol wears off...?
Good luck to everyone else! Hope my points are going somewhere good...
Goodbye points!

My score seems to be all over the place. I check every hour (for the last few hours anyways hehehe) and it's gone from 5.43 to 5.40 to 5.49 to 5.41. I guess at least it's staying around 5.4.

Mine's not doing that great, but *I* think it's pretty.

I want to know who the wise guy is who submitted a black square.

I'm seeing a lot of pictures that just don't look like negatives to me. They just look black and white. I'm leaving a comment on each of those telling them that I think it's going to end up hurting them in the voting process because some of them are really good pictures, and I'm sure they'll be wondering.

There's two that I really want to see the orignal image when the voting ends.

Thank you. Just after I posted, I happened on to "home" page and saw it there.

You can right click on the picture, save it to your computer, open it in the program you use (I use photoshop) and then click on invert or however your program switches from positive to negative or viceversa.

A much faster way....open your photo program (I use PSP) and drag the photo from DPC into your program. No right clicking, saving, etc. I've looked at a lot of them already this way and you'd be surprised at how a lot of the great negative images look terrible as regular images and vice versa. Of course I am voting on how they look as a negative.

I've done that on a few of them. One was, as I suspected, just B/W and not in fact negative.

I have to right click to drag, but you're right. It is faster. Learn something new everyday! Thanks.

Take a look again at that picture. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's not entirely black.

And it's not my picture either!

Gosh, I'm sorry! I think I'm the one who took your point. Scores are fluctuating WILDLY on this one. I started this morning at a somewhat disappointing 5.3, and am now around 6.3 (!). I promise that before the week is out, I'll end up giving you back at least half of that, OK?

Weird voting on this one it seems.

Did you also take my half point? Will you give it back? I'm down 0.51 since this AM.
