heaven knows that if you're in carmel you'll need it. that place is a wasteland of H2s, stretchpants, and Joan Rivers' brand costume jewelry.
*shudder* screw beer. you'll need vodka. |

David Bowie, "Survive". It's just so pathetically sad. I think it's about two people who couldn't be more different. The lyrics change voice, so that the second stanza is actually the singer talking in the voice of the one he loves. It makes you listen closely. Without the music, it's hard to imagine how heart-rending this is, but anyway...
Oh my, naked eyes,
I should have kept you,
I should have tried.
I should've been a wiser kind of guy.
I miss you.
Give me wings,
Give me space,
Give me money for a change of face.
Those noisy rooms and passion pants.
I loved you.
Where's the morning in my life?
Where's the sense in staying right?
Who said time is on my side?
But I've got ears and eyes, and nothing in my life,
And I'll survive your naked eyes,
I'll survive.
You alone across the floor...
You and me, and nothing more...
You're the great mistake I never made..
I'll never lied to you,
I hated when you lied,
But I'll survive your naked eyes,
I'll survive.
Beatle boys, all snowy white.
Razzle-dazzle clubs every night.
Wished I'd sent a valentine.
I loved you.
I'll survive
Naked eyes
I'll survive
I'll survive

Oh, and also "Seven" from the same album, with the unforgettable line, "The gods forgot they made me, so I forgot them too." |

In Pictures, Or Growing Up in Pictures by Alabama is a tear jerker, actually they have a bunch. Never Be One Again is sad, also Creed Open Arms hmm all seem to have something to do with having kids, i reckon that is what makes people go soft. haha
anything by Post VH David Lee Roth can make me cry unhappy tears.

It's not really my generation, but as a teen going through all those crazy hormone changes I used to cry myself to sleep listening to:
Queen - Who wants to live forever. |

Brad, I'm am afraid that I'm going to ask for your Official Man Card. Rule #11 of the bylaws state, "I will not cry at Bette Midler, Cher, or Barbara Streisand movies." Your card please? |

AC/DC's Highway to Hell made me cry once.
Of course I was being crushed by about 2000 people at a concert at the time.
I'll just walk away slowly.......

I'm very very afraid to ask this... does it say anything about crying at Judy Garland movies? I mean, geez, you try to keep a dry eye when Judy sings "the Man that Got Away"

I tossed my card years ago when the Sister Act movies, at the right happy/emotional times, had remote control over my eyeballs.
Think I'll go whistle at some gurls, scratch my crotch, do a Tim Allen grunt or twelve, along with some other manly things now to restore my testosterone levels....

Siam Shade - Life
Buck-Tick - Long Distance Call
Dir En Grey - Ain't Afraid to Die
Dir En Grey - Mushi
Lareine - Fierte no umi to tomo ni kieyu
Gackt - Birdcage
Luna Sea - Until the Day I Die
X Japan - Crucify my Love
And others :-)
5$ says not a single person here has heard any of them, let alone heard of any of the bands.
Which brings up another topic, anyone want a copy of my "desert island" mix CD? I seriously carry around like 10 copies in my bag, camera bag, messenger bag, in my car etc. JUST in case anyone hears some of my music, likes it and wonders what more would be like.
I'm weird, I know.
