I'm so sorry to say that, the message I posted at one of the biggest photography forums in Brasil, has taken another direction!
The fellow narrow minded Brasilians who have access to that forum, prefer to complain and bitch about bush's government, instead of help out! I feel betrayed by my own nation. I thought I could count on them, touch their hearts. Even if it was to buy a fine print only, but no!
They prefer to turn their backs and only bitch about the government, about iraq, about other tragic events in the world!
For me it's time to unite the nations, but they prefer to live a selfish life!
I'm very, very sad, it's been my personal tragedy today. Sorry ppl, truly am sorry!

You were the first person to order a print for Katrina victims, Scuds, and it was very nice of you to try and spread the word about this effort. I wish you didn't have to deal with the fallout from your kind actions and really appreciate everything that you've done. Thank you!

Philip, many kudos to you on all your hard work getting this incredible fundraiser going, and to Drew and Langdon for making this all possible in this wonderful site! I am honored to help in this way, and proud to be part of an amazing group of people here. :-) |

Hi everyone! The //www.katrinaprints.com site is now live on Smugmug and still open for photo submissions. I highly encourage everyone to join Drew and Langdon's efforts to raise money for the Red Cross, but also to post your photos in the katrinaprints Smugmug gallery to spread the effort as wide as possible, and to continue raising money beyond September 15. Both efforts are well worth your support and I am happy to give the username and password to anyone via PM who wants to post their photos there as well.
Also, it would help immensely if people would spread the word about both of these sites and ask your friends and family to pass on the links to the people they know. Every single sale helps. Thanks so much for all of the people who are participating in this effort! :-)

Hi, everyone. Now that Drew and Langdon are making such a centralized effort to raise money for Katrina victims, that is also very easy for all DPCers to participate in, I have decided to discontinue the katrinaprints.com site. Thanks to all of you who participated in that site, but DPC Prints is simply able to accomplish much more with the site that they already have in place than I can with a new site that requires people to upload all their photos again. If you haven't signed up for this worthy cause yet, please check the box on the dpchallenge.com home page to donate your print sales as well. Thank you! :-)

Hi all, Just wondering if there is anyway of knowing or keeping track of how much we've raised so far. Kinda like a progress report, ya know like..as of blahblah we have raised blahblah for victims. If people see how we are doing it might encourage people to sell and buy more.

We debated on driving that direction on 20 because we were told their were thousands of families just at rest stops. Bren,
Check out //www.hurricanehousing.org as it may be what you are looking for.
Be sure to read the guidelines and FAQs before you sign up. It's important to know, for example, that the site does not do any pre-screening of the individuals or families requesting housing, so you'll want to make sure you're comfortable with a particular person or family before accepting them. You'd also need to list a specific amount of time that you could house them.
Also be sure to make any rules and expectations known up front before you take someone in. This will help ensure a positive experience for you and for them.
-Terry
