LOL, I'd say start your own thread and plead your case. Me? I want the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II (with some nice lenses). Think we can raise me a couple grand?

We might have to try a little harder.

Some day I'll have to tell y'all about the saga of the 3 little fujis (2800z's). But suffice it to say, not having a camera of my own for over a month at the time really worked my nerves. That was two years ago about this time...would love to help! Let me know! thx!

Give me a contact where to send my donation. People here helped me upgrade and become a better photographer, it's the least I can do.

I'll gladly pitch in as well. I don't have paypal so I'll have to send it when you post an address.

Drop Cash might be helpful in organizing this.

Do we have a PayPal link yet? At the rate this is going, Lentil might be able to accessorize her 4100 with a nice D70. ;-)

There must be a virus going around. JPR's camera just died two days ago (I offered to loan him my G5 if needed for his vacation).

At the rate we are going, we should consider getting her one of the various warrenty extensions so she knows she'll have this camera for a few years. :) Which companies cover Australia?

After we started doing this last night, I was wondering if we should start a real charity fund to help people out with cameras.

I'm serious. Somehow we'd have to limit it and try to prevent abuse. But, for example, I think we'll have overflow dollars here, and I'm sure Lisa isn't the only one with a true need.

What do you think? The hardest part will be to determine real need and prevent abuse. But if we got a one-time $5-$10 donation from all members, this fund could help quite a few people in need. And I'm not talking about buying them 20Ds and L lenses.

So far you are up in 206,80 - 276,80$
depending from those who didn't tell the sum they are donating...

I you still need some, (which, considering the number of people offering, might not be the case) I can paypal 5-10 dollars no problem.

And as has been said before all we're owed is purty pictures.

Good deal, but you may have jumped too soon. By now you're within range of a new Coolpix 4800 (8.3x zoom and a bigger LCD), or a Canon Powershot A520. I agree with Neil on having a fund to help others.

I think your really on to something here!
An organization set up to help those with a common passion and without the means to do it.I'd be interested in something like that.
Need would have to be determined by a "board" made up of all different social and economical backgrounds to be fair.
Requests could be sent to the board through email or perhaps with enough interest, a website could be developed??
I would be willing to sit on the board...any other takers?

I'd be glad to provide webspace and spring for a domain if needed.

Dropcash has a link that you can pay with Paypal. Though everyone's help is apreciated I would like to keep all transactions through Dropcash and Paypal to avoid confusion and misunderstandings. This will also assure that we don't go over and relieves me of the task of having to send money back. If you don't have access to Paypal it is your intent that counts. Sit this one out and maybe there will be something you can do next time.

The link is titled Lisa's camera. You can go there now if you like. Everything is set up.

Do you have home contents insurance or even travel insurance that you could claim the camera on? Even with an excess it might be worthwhile?

the link seemed to work and the donation was registered instantly on the bar. Technology never fails to impress me.

Just sent in my $5. Thanks for setting this all up for us/her nsbca7.
