now you are making me cry :o(

OK - then I will make a demand . . . you are never allowed to whine about a score as long as you are enjoying your photography and the site. Isn't this so much nicer today doing fun stuff than whining?? LOL

ok, for this challenge (light on white) i think i am doing pretty good. Personal best for me! (how was that)?

Excellent is what I say!! ;o)

The second would be to buy a Rebel 300D w/kit lens for the next member blue ribbon winner who does not currently own a DSLR. I think we could find a new camera for about 800$

I think both of these suggestions would encourage excellence and participation, would do the world of photography and art a great service.

great idea! i know i dont own a DSLR. ;op just kidding

Just one warning (I know everybody knows this, but it is worth repeating...)

This is the picture of the charger for 4100 (from amazon) and it does not list model 3100 as compatible. You can compare the electrical on both and see if it matches.
Lisa, I must imagine that your charger outputs some DC voltage, say 4.2V or so. Please check on your charger whether positive lead is inside or outside, and that it matches what's drawn on this charger.
Ignore the input values on this image - those are US and shouild not matter in your case. What goes into camera should match. Otherwise, it'll be a repeat of instant death...

I'm not saying that I would not do this again for you, but it would be better if you could start taking pics right away, and not wait for another round of donations (LOL).

firstly i would like to say that when i posted initially yesterday about my camera breaking i did so because i just felt so upset and i guess i needed some comforting. I in no way what so ever intended for you guys to put together a fund and buy a new one. In saying that, i am soooooooooo glad you did. :o). I went to bed last night crying, saying to my husband that i thought you guys were the best people i have ever met (virtually). I would easily put money towards someone else but never feel like i am worthy enough for this to happen to. I still dont know why you did it. So last night when i was drifting off to sleep thinking wow, i have met some amazing people here, i couldnt wait to get up in the morning and see what has been going on during the night. I now KNOW that you guys are really special individuals. I cant even write this without welling up. :o) I cant thank you all enough. Kylie is aware of how hard this is for me to accept and i do find it really hard to do so. I am just so grateful for meeting everyone and sharing such a wonderful past-time/job/hobby etc. Thankyou from the very bottom of my heart.
Lisa
P.S. I promise to try and take wonderful photos so you can see your investment. :o)

Hon, I am so happy for you!!! Are the cables/connections going to be OK from the US to Australia??? I know it was hard for you believe when I wrote you about the gift membership, so this has to just blow you away compeltely!!!! But you can see how heartfelt it is and was. Honestly - I think WE all are the truly selfish ones. We get all this reaffirmation and joy out of seeing this community be what we hope for in humans every day!!!!! You enjoy!!!

i have no idea about cables etc. But there are plenty of shops here that can tell me what to get if anthing. Your right, i am completely blown away. I have an ache in my heart, i dont know if it is a good ache or one of embarrasment. I am just so shocked by all of you

I'm sorry to say that I missed out on the short window of opportunity to donate my $5 towards this camera. By the time I'd checked back on this thread the target had already been reached.

If it's OK with Lentil I will donate my $5 instead towards the collection for cameras for the disadvantaged and disabled children. I believe that is being talked about in the "Cameras for all!" thread and I encourage everyone who considered donating towards Lentil's new camera but who missed the chance to consider donating there instead.

John

of course John, that is a fantastic thing to do. I encourage everyone to do so.

I was sleeping when all this happened, but I just have to say that this gesture surpasses the kindness I could have imagined in an internet community.

That's why GTGs are so much fun! I've already had the pleasure of meeting Graphicfunk, BradP, nshapiro, JPR, Soccerdad, Daisy77, Ericlimon, Shoff, CeeDeez, Scroosloose, Digitalpins, TLL061, Longlivenyhc...

I'm sure there will be many more when the weather gets warmer. Anybody who hasn't already met up with others from this great community should really try it. You're missing the friends you never knew you had. ;-)

An adaptor may be required to plug it in for recharge and I'm not sure if the USA type are available here. We can buy the ones for Aussie to USA but not sure if USA to Aussie are available.
