I'm a steady 4.5, but forgot to add to my photo that I was moving at 40mph on ANOTHER bridge at the time of my shot. I had to get it by shooting out the window while moving in traffic. Everyone is saying the soft focus is nice..but the horizon is off..but again that is because I was on another bridge and moving. Oh well...hopefully I can come up with something for the 70's photo before it is too late.

This is my first challenge and I found it interesting how different people vote...what I found somewhat disturbing was some comments about bad pictures and one person put down "crap that doesnt deserve to be in a photo album"...Is your photography oh so great that you can hand out that kind of judgment and better yet, just because you do not care for a photo does not mean that someone else could not.

How's every body doing so far. Im hanging onto a 6.46 avg. score so far after 220 votes. Im waiting for that big drop in my score.(maybe I should not have said that out loud-jinx.)

tia, thats terrible, dont take that kind of comment to heart. there
are some meanies around, i hate it when voters are not constructive.
dont worry we have all had some of those.

i couldn't agree more, lesley! after all the outpouring yesterday in support of another 'member' (read whole thread HERE), this calls back the point i made there, as well

i also am really glad this has come out, and while everybody is fresh and supportive of what clictacamera is about, i would like to offer the following:

when you are voting and commenting on challenges, consider that the image in front of you might be one of theirs, or that it might be one from a younger member, or that it might be someone's first time out.

no one improves without honest criticism, but whether or not it is constructive depends entirely on how it it delivered.

I've gotten positive comments thus far, and this is my highest score ever! LOL I know it's a pathetic high score, but I'm still proud! :D

I try to be positive in my comments, At least so far I have, but I admit I just don't understand some of the "bridges"

Hey ceyval, interesting eiffel tower picture, love the lighting.

Is it possible to give every photograph a fair mark.
421 photographs is a lot to view objectivly.
Viewing every one for a minimum of 30 seconds adds up to nearly 3.5 hours, and to add comments takes even longer.
So are good pictures being marked poorly, and poor pictures getting good marks due to the need to get through all the entrys in the required time.

Woho.....this one is to finish top10!
I really mean that score?

If there is 421 entries there should be as many people voting at least 420 votes for each image, if you want people to vote on your image do the same.

231 Votes , 6.51 Avg. score. I actually could have done a lot better during my post processing work,oh well I'll beat myself up when the challenge is over. Not a bad score so far I guess.

After a couple of years of lurking and a few months after registering I have finally got around to voting on a challenge. Two sessions today, about 3 hours in total to vote on 421 images and try to comment on all the lower marks and a scattering of others. Really, really hard work!

Lowest votes were a handful of 3s, nothing deserved a 1 or a 2, even the "worst" pictures had something going for them.

Yeah, but which of us is 0.1316 ahead?

I would be really happy with a 7.1557 score, but it still may not be enough for a ribbon, or even a top-ten finish. My best score to date was a 7.154 on my 'March Free Study' entry, and it only got 12th place.

I just checked and mine is down to 7.1339 right now.
