2 whole days for the setup of the Death challenge.
First voter gave a 3... guess I'll stop spending time for challenges.
Complete shoehorns score better on DPC

My first voter gave an 8. Average after 2nd voter is a 6. Wish I hadn't seen the first vote - I'd be imagining two 6's :)
eta. Another vote. Now a 4. Do the math. This one is not so good :(

yes, a bit at a loss with the lightbulb challenge, which appears to be the case with the Friday the 13th challenge, too... only 5 entries in. unless something hits me in the face, i'm skipping that one. |

Well, I don't think it counts as a "real" Brown Ribbon anyway if it finishes in the top 20 ...

In for the Friday challenge.
I guess I learned a couple things which is what the whole point is, but I'm not looking forward to the inevitable mid-5 scores I get every time I enter one of these expert editing challenges. The bar is so high and it seems like if you're not spending an entire work week on the processing you get a 5. |

You know, I think you may have identified the most disappointing part of the entire process. If only the amount of time we spent creating our entry had any bearing on our score for it... |

well, now with Digital Darkroom challenge in MINIMAL, you can spend all week framing and lighting you shot, spend no time on proceesing, and get a 5!!!
sounds fun, doesn't it?

lol, good point.
It does sound fun and I'll probably spend a very long time on it if I get a good idea. |

Not sure how much time you actually spent on yours but it looks well done and appears to have been a heck of a lot of work (by my standards at least), and it was pretty well received. Always a tough challenge when our resident expert enters. |

I just did a quick re-edit of my Light Bulb entry that I like a lot better. Arrrgh. Can I have a do over? A mulligan? Serves me right for starting an Expert Editing challenge a couple hours before close. |

So I entered three of our current challenges: digital darkroom, games, and the free study.
Trying to get back behind the camera for things other than snapshots.
Been experimenting a lot with my iPhone 6 plus.

A HUGE +1 from me. Yes, Christophe and Samantha can turn out brilliant meisterwerks in a matter of hours. But the rest of us mortals generally have to figure out how to do things, and lacking that, try to find a tut online or someone here on the site whose style of explaining pp tricks is clear and actually works. I probably spend at least triple the amount of hours that they do on their entries, yet get barely any acknowledgement, let alone votes that seem to recognize and reward the vast amounts of hard work that went into it. |

wonder how many cell phones we'll see in the new Portrait Of A Camera II challenge? i must say photos of new cameras are going to be very blase to me unless they are very cleverly staged. i'm not sure many in the last iteration of this challenge topic would score as high now as they did then. |

I want to know how taking a portrait of a camera is more exciting than shooting with closed eyes, grin!!! |
