I'm in bvy's "eh" zone as well... |
Great. I have an Eh Zone now.
Really, of the ones remaining, the scores are all over the place. Just looking for the right words -- something deeper than "really nice."

Was up into the 5.4s until Don started tweaking his votes. And to think I worked so hard to try and score a Posthumous ribbon. ;)

Even though the voting is all over the place, I'm guessing top ten will go down to 6.4 -- what's your guess? I think there are some awesome shots out there.

My guess is scoring will be a little lower than usual. Only because there will be some voters not familiar with the Posthumous style. |

Anyone else having this mysterious event happening to them? |
Yes. I'm a little bummed that this happened (gonna stop clicking on "helpful" until after voting is done). It was a nice meaningless feather in my cap that his was the first comment I'd received on my entry, and that I'd gotten it in the first hour after voting started, too. All evidence of this is now gone, except for this post here... heh... ;) |

That's it, I can go no further. I have adjusted scores for the last time and made some additional comments. My top ten now appears to consist of fifteen entries! My average score for this challenge is 25% higher than my overall average score given. I have made 40 comments more than usual. And judging by the 22 comments that I have received, the quality of everyone's commenting is about 200% higher than usual.
A remarkable challenge that has created so much more interest, enthusiasm and original thought than the regular stuff (alas, I have an 'Orange DCLXVII' entry that has a comment saying the presence of other colors is distracting', so it's obviously back to our regular programming now).
Thanks to everyone, and especially to posthumous for inspiring the whole thing. I love him like a deceased brother.

I agree, Paul. This has been a very special and wonderful occasion. The number and quality of comments, the number of truly interesting and thoughtful/thought-provoking entries. It's like having dessert for dinner. I'm saddened that this too shall pass. Yet hopeful that we can resurrect the dead on occasion...
Indeed, Don. Thanks. |

Thanks to Langdon for having this challenge. I'm just along for the ride, enjoying myself.
Here's an icon that anyone who's been put in a Posthumous Art Gallery can use...
Tomorrow I'll hand out a bunch of these and about 5 ribbons. Wonderful shots in the 8 and 7 range as well, I guess I'll just have to tell them their score. My standards are high. I love my art gallery picks. The ribbon picks seem more about a personal connection (on some archetypal level) than anything else. |

Can we use that for any time we've been put in the gallery? And how do we post it to our profiles? (I need to go back and check... I think I have a gallery shot or two!) It's quite lovely, by the way. The little gif thing.

I'm with ubique. The best challenge ever. Well since I joined. Until I ribbon. Whatever.....
Just remember that there are two spelling camps at DPC, and the other 99% would probably want to correct the sentence to: "Thanks to everyno-one, and especially to posthumous for inspiringtigating the whole thing. I love him like a deciseased brother." Hehe |
Almost too tired to decipher this...ha! |

Regarding "best challenge ever" status, I gotta lump this one and the Fine Arts challenge pretty much together. Both were a pleasure to shoot for and to vote on. I'm glad the dead guy's living memorial yet has breath in its bones. Or something like that.
As far as scores, I can't predict if this is ending up a high-scoring or low-scoring challenge; if the latter, I actually have hopes of a top-10 finish; if the former, probably not. But either way, it's been real :-)

I'm hoping it's the latter also, then I might be able to get above mid-pack placing.
This definitely was one of my favorite challenges to enter and vote on in quite some time, the images were a refreshing change from the DPC "norm".

Thanks to Don for his years of dedication to the posthumous ribbons and this thread and thanks to everyone that made this such a great challenge. I worked hard on comments for this challenge and thought I must have reached about 80% but noticed I was only at 45% so special thanks to everyone that managed to comment on 100% (especially Brian bvy who not only commented on 100% but went back and started revising his comments). This is an exciting day. I hope we do this again. Good luck to everyone. |

In this challenge, I really only saw less than half a dozen photos that came close to its spirit (as I understand it). Fewer that made an impact, or had something to say. |
