no trophies, just long looks.
I think our own insecurities lead us to believe that sharpness of focus and slick processing make something better.
Or the thought that we are being duped if it is not slick.
But, sometimes, we have to stop speed voting and rapidly viewing the entries, and to avoid being that person standing in the museum saying "I know a six year old who could do this."
and this one finished last, and is not flashy, quite random on first look, and worth another one.
Perhaps as photographers we get all wrapped up in f-stops and lenses and focus and overall "presentableness"
we lose sight of shape, form, color, randomness and pure feeling. Isn't that the real gift of photography? you didn't make anything- you captured a 2d representation of "reality."

My top ten, some of which scored very well indeed, some of which did not fare as well. Among the latter, I was surprised by the number of "I like this but DNMC" (or almost) comments?? If I like it, it's art for me. If someone else likes a different picture, it's art for them. How can an image NOT meet this challenge?
I have never posted a thumb before and hope I have understood the instructions I read for doing so. If the rest of this message is a mess, I apologize in advance.

Also a thank you to tnun for pointing out the voting pattern on the photo, and explaining why it is as it is.
