FWIW, I can discern no pattern whatsoever.
I think the photos on 1x are very, very good. Many of them are unlike things I've seen elsewhere. But there's also plenty that looks just like other photos.
So I just keep trying random stuff I've already shot for other purposes. |

EDIT: Do you put a title when you submit? Do they take that into account? When I first saw this photo the word "Mentor" popped into my head.
Boooo....What? This looks just like the sort of work they like !

I wonder how much of the selected gallery would've passed muster if it went through today's curator selection vs. the old crowd review method.
I have a feeling none of my shots would be selected today. |

My first 1x reject. I don't think there is a photo I have that they will accept. Oh well, I will reach the 40 rejects before anyone :-)
Why does this have distortion on DPChallenge, but doesn't seem to have that on 1x or ViewBug ? It's really weird, I must be missing something.

| I am not even posting mine but I am to about 80 rejects, 0 published. I will have to rethink my photography again. To me, regardless of the recent commercial direction, 1x is still full of great photos so I am still hoping I can take one great photo one day that will get published at 1x. But I would like to like this photo as well and so far I finished not liking any of my 80 rejects. Kind of twisted problem - I like them, submit them, get rejected, and then I don't like them any more. Maybe I should take up a different hobby! :) |

90?! Gosh...I feel lazy! ;-)
I wish I had that many photos of quality to choose from ... ;-P
But, you know, Ben...I bet the ones that were accepted and the fact that you made the highlight page really outweighs that number.
