Most Under Appreciated IMHO (aka MUAIMHOs)

Free Study 2010-07

all of which I gave 10s to... can't recall when I last gave so many 10s in the one challenge

which I gave 9s

FWIW... Other 9's that don't meet the MUAIMHO criteria for "under appreciated"

Wow. Thanks, Vlado. You single-handedly knocked two items off my goals list tonight.

I had a busy week and never got back to my 7s to bump them up and pick ribbons... but there certainly were some great shots in this free study.

Perhaps I am not understanding the basic premise of these awards, but I look at some of the scores meted out on a lot of these images and a good number fared rather well... as in 6 or better.

Surely it can`t be the scores people are bemoaning... or is it?

Could someone enlighten me?

No bemoaning here. Just peer recognition.

I'm creating this thread to encourage people to show, week after week, challenge after challenge, their preferences for different photos than the ones winning DPC ribbons. I think it's important to give some visibility to other works not aligned with the mainstream taste, and give support to photographers with different views and approaches to photography.

So, after each challenge, you are encouraged to post here your personal winners, photos that did not win a DPC ribbon and are not align with the masses taste, but won your heart instead.

Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. Let̢۪s show some.

A warm comment in a photograph can do a lot.

Jorge.

PS: Please notify the owner of every photograph posted here, and let him or her know about your support.

Jorge was the originator of what we now call the "Posthumous Awards", and the above is a quote from his original post.

None of those I posted scored above a 6, and all were well outside of the top 100. But as Robert points out, this thread does have a wide variety of contributions. It's all good. :-)

this photo needs a look:

p.s. I pick my ribbons anonymously before the results are known. I don't pick charity cases. I pick great pictures.
