What an excellent picture - I was on holiday aswell, but not anywhere as good as the Caribbean (spelling ?) - anyway I would certainly have 10'd this - Do you take pictures in shop windows ? - I do that a lot - good grief I've just seen your shop dummies shot - I have about twenty shots of shop dummies in Belgium to sort through

Don't speak Latin or Faux-Latin but I get what you're saying here!

I should have said in my convoluted comment below that I do like the image - it scored an 8 from me.

Bizarre and fascinating. There's a metaphor here -- and probably an opportunity for analysis of disserational proportion.

Best of show for me. A ten for you.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: I like that this is here in the Free Study offering - it stands out from the crowd. Coloring is fairly gorgeous and the lighting is perfect for the scene. The compositional elements are of course eclectic. I also like the way the texture of the individual pieces are apparent.

Critical stuff: The image is perhaps over-contrived; not really a problem in itself, whenever we point a camera at something and choose our framing we create something that is contrived. Here though, it seems a little forced... Almost cynical, and of course the title doesn't help. It hasn't escaped me it could just be an ironic image and by me even attempting to construct a comment like this for a bunch of stuff in a basement I fall into the trap.

Overall: Whatever your intention with this image, it has engaged me, it has made me question what we / I value in an image, surely forcing that reflection upon a viewer constitutes art. Here, viewing has become dialogue - and that dialogue (if not the image) was emergent and natural, not contrived.

This photograph really has a hold on me, especially the way the manequin appears to be staring straight at me, the viewer. If my interpretation is correct it has a humorous message and you've made the DPC voter the diety. Would have been great in Fine Arts challenge but I say bravo to you and well done.

This is beautiful. I love your color pallette and the doll house. Why did you decide to make the right so much darker, instead of cropping it out? It appears to have the sme effect, i.e. to push the composition to the left. Anyway, great photo.

Bonus points for odd in general and the strangely latinized title. AND picture in picture. This just gets bonus points all around!

interesting shot with with some interesting composition with an unusual subject. I don't think that the right of frame needs to be as dark as it is, if you are just going it to hide details while not just crop?
