A truely bad photograph that I quite liked at the time.

This one did a lot better than I thought it would.

Both are products of uninspired FSM months

I had no bad ideas last year.

yeah i was desperate and stretched it on this one. it was a terrible image anyway.

Decent photo with a strong image (would be better minus the slight blur) - although it was way outside the challenge theme.

yes it was a stretch and the blur was bugging me. i did it anyway...

It was not a good year for me at DPC. As I get more involved in my own photography I seem to score lower & lower. I entered 53 challenges,
30% scored above 5.
8% scored below 4.
But I did win a Brown!

Definitely my worst for the year, though not my lowest score:

And though I didn't mind this for the challenge, DPC didn't like it, and its my only entry not to receive one comment in the voting period last year.

And one DQ for misunderstanding the rules (sharpening, not De-sat), though it was getting low scores until the DQ

I think you're due a brown for this one as well. I don't always hand them out, but they're free to collect :)

My worst scoring photo (4.9417) was , but I like it a lot and still cannot believe it scored below 5.

My least favorite of 2009 was which actually scored pretty good (5.7) but is very boring to me.

My lowest scoring was this...

at 3.85 but i quite like it.

I think my least successful image was this...

which, again, i quite like still but i guess just from a design point of view as it's not a strong photograph at all.

I will not overload this thread with too many examples, so here's just one with a 3.7

But even low scoring photos can be very nice

I like some of my lower scoring images, so I don't consider them worst. This, however, was just a very poor example of painting with light.

Well, with 15 sub-5 scores this year, I didn't know I sucked so badly!
I think over-processing is the main culprit, but I still like most of them regardless.

Blegh, the only reason I entered was for a side challenge. Wish I wouldn't have.

Just a few of The DOGS of 09'

I have way too many sub5 entries. I need to work on that. These are a few that I liked anyway.

Turns out I only entered 3 challenges (voted) for the year

I think you had a great year.

No way I should had enter this, but I put so much time in trying to figure out how to combine images. Still never got it.....I'll take this one on the chin.... :)

This didn't miss a brown ribbon by much. The thing that annoys me most is that, too late, I discovered I had a really nice shot that could have gone in. It just needed huge cropping.
12/29/2009 11:58:11 PM · #46

4.5508 - I didn't think it was that bad!
12/30/2009 12:56:59 AM · #47

Worst of '09 and second worst of all time. I asked for it tho... I had a pet, with a bow tie AND a stuffed animal all in once place! For the record, in places NOT DPC the stuffed animal is a huge hit. (now featured in two magazines ad has it's own FB page.)

Bait ready, 38 ft Luhrs Open Tournament, 618 ft of Atlantic Ocean water, 20 miles offshore, 23 knots, headed 026 deg, auto pilot, 980 Hp, and rods ready.
It don't get much better than this for me.
DPC voters however, just didn't get it. Maybe it's because the beer is missing.... LOL.
4.29 and 54 of 62.
12/30/2009 12:53:42 PM · #49

I remember really liking it when I shot and processed it. I can see now why it got the score it did.
12/30/2009 01:14:02 PM · #50
and omg...this

Not my most inspirational year, lol! Doh! Luckily of late, I've uploaded next to nothing as I think most of my stuff sucks this past year, so I didn't even bother. (I waste a lot of time shooting crap!)
