So I guess I judged this topic all wrong - I thought we were looking for non-cliche images and to me, this seemed like it.
The back of the flower, the natural elements (but not the usual ones), the colors, all fit together in my eye as a composition that isn't something you see everyday but was worth a view.
Maybe I should have titled it Beauty and the Beast. Thanks for all the comments.

I am not sure if I completely get the connection between your title and the photo - is it because of the barb wire or fence? I see a lot of flower photos here, so I am sure your intent must have been to due with what is supposed to be 'unusual' - I will have to come back to read your comments to see your intent on this one. Other than all of that - I like the rain drops on the flower and the fence, and I like the DOF. Good job.

Nothing really special here and I really wish I could see the front of the flower because the colors are great

Color is good. Looks like the color right after it rains.

I'm not sure that it's been seen before, but it doesn't hold very much interest, imo. sorry!

This is really nice.. like they're in jail, and stretching to escape. Beautiful colors.

Is this truly unique? I guess I've not seen that actual flower before but flowers in general are considered cliche here so don't really see how it meets the challenge critera?

Good idea...but I'm not sure the busyines of the image will work well with the scoring. Something needs to isolate the subject aways from the background. I know the point is supposed to be the mix of elements... but without the title... I don't know.

DOF could have still been used to bring out the flower, still showing the mishmash of elements that you intended, I think. (not voting)

The lines are good, but i would stuck with the gray and green background, avoiding tha white on the right top and the black on the top left
